Adventures of Magean & Maelorwen
Episode 1
There is a land that exists called the Land of Enchantment.
If you measured it in miles it would be very far away, but use your imagination and it's just around the
corner. We should tell you that there are so many things about this place that make it special.
Before we go on you should meet Magean. "Magean, here. I can tell you everything
there is to know about this place. I've always been here and I always will. I am the head wizard in the
Land of Enchantment, while Maelorwen leads the sorceresses."
"Hi, everyone. Magean, I think we should let them know about
the interesting things that we have here. Theres so much that they don't know about,
and it's quite different than where they're from."
"You are right, Maelorwen. First, when you look at all the kids here, you'll see that they
come from all around the world."
"We bet you're wondering, how do all these children talk to each other? Here, everyone speaks
the same language."
"Magean, that isn't really true. What happens is that everyone speaks their own
language and as your voice travels through the air it switches to the listeners
language so that they understand what the other person is saying."
"You're right. It makes things easier for everyone that way."
"If you really want to learn though and you concentrate then you will
realize that you can also hear the words of the other persons language, and
poof, before you know it you can speak many different languages."
"Yes, that's true. We've had many kids leave here with a wealth of knowledge. We might
want to introduce Greum
He has helped us find many homes for all of our friends."
"Hi, Magean. Thanks for the introduction. I've been happy to assist. I was just noticing that crystal ball over there.
Why have I never seen you using that one before?"
"Well, Greum, that is a sad story. That crystal ball is the most
powerful in the land, but you have to have the power gem necklace that goes with it in order to use it."
"Where's the power gem necklace?" asked Greum.
"We aren't sure. Someone has taken it." Magean exclaimed.
"Why aren't you out looking for it?" questioned Greum.
Maelorwen began to explain, "We can't look for it. The crystal ball could get stolen if we
leave it to look for it. Both of us need to remain here to take turns guarding the crystal
ball. If the wrong person has both the crystal ball and the necklace we could all lose our
enchanted powers."
"Why don't I go and search for the necklace, while you two guard the ball?" volunteered Greum.
"Greum, that's a wonderful idea!" Magean yelled.
"I will leave now and search the entire land for it. I'll just take a key and check all of the
rooms in the castle on my way out." Greum said as he grabbed the key.
So, Greum began by searching each and every room of the castle, but the necklace was no where to be found.
Next he ventured out to the forest, where he came upon an enchanted tree.
"Tree, I am in search of a very powerful necklace. Have you seen anyone pass this way that
had such an item?" inquired Greum.
"No, I haven't seen anyone except for a witch that passed an hour or so ago."
"Thank you for your help, Tree."
Greum continued through the forest and ran into a witch, who had something very tasty brewing.
"Hello witch, my name is Greum. How are you this fine day?"
"Why, hello Greum. I'm doing just wonderfully. Would you care for a bite to eat?" asked the witch.
"Yes, that would be nice. I've travelled far today, and haven't stopped to eat."
So, Greum sat on a rock, and the witch handed him a wooden bowl filled with gruel. Just as he
was finishing up, the witch asked, "Why have you not stopped to eat?"
"I am on a search for a very powerful necklace. Have you seen anyone that has such a necklace."
"No, I have not."
"Thank you for the fine meal, but I must be continuing my journey now."
Greum followed the dusty path to the edge of the forest where he spied a princess in a
beautifull field of flowers.
"Hello, fair maiden, what brings you out by yourself?" Greum yelled as
across the field as he waved.
"I am just out picking flowers and enjoying the fresh air and sunshine. Hoping to find a frog
that is my prince."
"I am looking for a powerful necklace, have you seen anyone with such?"
No, I have not. I followed a path by the stream and only say a dragon."
"Thank you, Princess. I shall be on my way."
"If you see my frog prince could you tell him that I'm here in the field of
flowers looking for him everyday?"
"I will."
Greum walked to the far side of the field wher he found th path along the
stream and proceeded to search for the necklace. Before too long he came
upon the dragon.
"Dragon, has anyone passed by you with a powerful necklace?"
"No, I've seen no one with anything powerful. Just a princess in search
of a prince. The princesses are about all that travel this path. You know
that it's a good thing that field of flowers is enchanted. All
these princesses picking flowers while waiting for their prince
if it weren't enchanted it would have long ago run out of flowers."
"Dragon, you are right. I'll have to talk to Magean and Maelorwen and
find out if there is anywhere else that a frog can be turned into a prince.
The Enchanted Field of Flowers must be too busy since it is the only place that a
princess can meet her frog prince and have a happy ending story."
"That would be great Greum, a little less traffic through these parts would
let me get a little more sleep."
"I must be moving, have to find that necklace."
Greum walked a little further, found a bridge where he crossed the
stream, and began to climb the rocks to reach the grass again.
Just as he got to the top, he saw, sitting on a rock, a frog prince.
"Well, sir frog prince, you know that your
princess is waiting for you in the field of flowers don't you?"
"Of course I know, I've hopped day and night to get there, but it's such a long
journey when you're so small. I wish there were a field of flowers closer to my
castle."
"I have every intention of speaking to Magean and Maelorwen about that as soon as
I've finished my mission. Can you tell me frog prince, have you seen anyone along your
way that was carrying a very powerful necklace?"
"Yes, I did. Many hops ago, I saw someone who was carrying a very dark blue
and sparkling necklace on a gold chain."
"Which way should I travel to find them?"
"You must top this grassy hill here behind us, follow the road to the fork, take
the right fork, and then ask the Babbling Brook, she knows all."
"Thank you, frog prince. Now hurry to the field of flowers where your
princess awaits your arrival."
Greum hurried to the top of the hill, where he found the road, that led him
to the right fork and before long he was talking to the Babbling Brook.
Babbling Brook told Greum exactly where to find the Power Gem Necklace. It is
hidden among the many pages of the Land of Enchantment. You too can have the power of
the crystal ball if you find the Power Gem Necklace. Just search the pages, find the
necklace and then return here to get the crystal ball so that your adoptee may have them
in their castle.
