School is back in and the days will get shorter soon. What better way to fill those early dark evenings than reading.

Infants & Toddlers

Sharing
By Gill Davies, Illustrated by Stephanie Longfoot

While this is not a board book, it does entertain and teach kids how to share. It also shows how many different things you can share. Sometimes you share toys, other times it's food, and you can even share your chair while you're watching television.

One fish, two fish, red fish, blue fish
By Dr. Seuss

I think that Dr. Seuss has proven himself through time. The books may seem like nonsense, but everyone loves them. Rhymes and more rhymes is what you get with Dr. Seuss, if it doesn't rhyme, he makes it rhyme. Kids love the pictures. Dr. Seuss books are hard to classify by an age, toddlers love them, and they are easy beginning reading for older children.

Funny Guy
by Grace Allen Hogarth

This might be a little difficult for the younger readers, but it is an enjoyable book. Helen's mother is in the hospital, and Dad needs money to pay the bills. She is spending her summer with Auntie Cris. She is very lonely and does many odd things, everyone starts calling her "The Funny Guy". The harder she tries to fit in the worse the names become. What happens? Read it and find out.
