Puffkins were spotted being sold on the ACN shopping channel this weekend.

The four newest Puffkins keyrings for Whiskers the walrus, Omar the orangutan, Strut the turkey, and Swoop the falcon will be shipping in late September

**August 28, 1998**
According to the The Official Puffkins Website Swibco will announce the retirement of 3 Puffkins on September 11th and will introduce 6 new Puffkins.

**August 21, 1998**
The introduction of the 6 new Puffkins and the retirement of an undisclosed number of Puffkins will be announced on September 11th at 8:00AM CST on the The Official Puffkins Website

**August 21, 1998**
For those of you in the Kansas City area, I have been asked to attend a Puffkin Day that is planned for the 26th of September in Independence, Missouri at the Independence Center. There will be retired and rare Puffkins on display, Puffkins and Puffkin merchandise for sale, T-shirts and information from Puffkins Collectors' Club, and even a drawing for a set of Halloween Puffkins autographed by owner and president of Swibco, John Pouleson. I hope to see some of you there!

**August 13, 1998**
One of the things I found out at the KC Gift show was that Casey's tag would be undergoing a change. Male cardinals are bright red and females are more brownish. Casey's tag will read 'he' in place of 'she' from now on. I was asked that it not be announced too soon so that collectors would have a chance to add Casey to their collections before the secondary market snapped them up.

There will be a retirement in September. No hint on how many Puffkins will retire or who it will be.

Carlton Cards, one of the largest retail suppliers of Puffkins, will no longer be putting their price stickers on the back of the Puffkins hang tags. Great news for the serious collector!

The new Puffkins Gift Boxes should be ready by September. Swibco will be out of the older boxes SOON!

**July 31, 1998**
According to the Puffkin Press a new gift box, which will include pictures of some of the more current Puffkins, will be available soon. If you have any of the older gift boxes you may want to hold on to them.

Swibco makes the retirement of the Toby and Armour keychains official. (July 31, 1998)

**July 20, 1998**
Toby and Armour keychains will only be available while supplies last. No more are being produced. I am not sure whether there will be an official retirement announcement from Swibco for the keychains or not.

**July 17, 1998**
Swibco announces in the Puffkin Press that four of the back ordered styles are now available: Odie, Magic, Spike and Zack. Unfortunately Baldwin, Tiki, and Casey have been added to the back ordered list.

The Puffkin Press also announced that the new 18 styles of keyrings have been shipped and should be in local stores by next week.

The Puffkins Collectors' Club will be the exclusive source of Puffkins T-shirts.

**July 15, 1998**
Swibco officially announces the release of four new Puffkins; Whiskers the Walrus, Omar the Orangutan, Strut the Turkey, and Swoop the Falcon.

Swibco announces the retirement of Toby the whale.

**July 12, 1998**
Be on the lookout for another article about Puffkins written by Puffinstuf of Puffinstuf's Enchanted Forest in the August/September issue of Rosie Wells Collectors' Bulletin magazine!

**July 12, 1998**
Puffinstuf of Puffinstuf's Enchanted Forest has been invited to attend a Puffkin Day in Independence, Missouri in late August or September. It is in the planning stages at this time but sounds like it will be lots of fun! I will keep you posted with dates and details when they become available.

**July 10, 1998**
According to the Puffkin Press the Swibco announcement on July 15th will include the introduction of four new Puffkins and the retirement of one Puffkin.

According to Extinct's 'Interview with Dr. Drake' Swibco plans a retirement announcement on July 15th.

**July 1, 1998**
Swibco introduces a new chat room on the Official Puffkins Website. It's called CHIT CHAT and is already very popular!

**June 29, 1998**
The 18 new keyrings will include these Puffkins:
Crystal, Bosley, Odie, Bruno, Flo, Grizwald, Zack, Tiki, Casey, Armour, Baldwin, Dottie, Magic, Lizzy, Albert, Franklin, Peeps, and Ginger.

**June 26, 1998**
Swibco confirms that Crystal, Bosley, Odie, Flo, Grizwald, and Zack are also back ordered until August.

**June 25, 1998**
New keyrings are currently in production and will soon be available in stores. Some of the Puffkin styles were not made into keyrings because when their size was reduced Swibco was not happy with the results. Tiki, Baldwin, and Casey will be included and also Armour!

**June 25, 1998**
Another new collector's list (dated 5/98) is being distributed along with the three new June releases. All Puffkins are on this list including the four Halloween limited edition Puffkins. There is a check-off box next to each Puffkin and all five retired Puffkins are marked 'RETIRED'. There is also a place on the back to personalize your list with your own Puffkins information.

**June 19, 1998**
Swibco confirms that Dottie, Spike, Magic, Franklin, Albert, and Bruno are back ordered until August.

**June 12, 1998**
Swibco officially announces the release of Baldwin (eagle), Casey (cardinal), and Tiki (toucan).

**June 1, 1998**
The names and style numbers of the new June releases are; Casey the Cardinal Style #6656, Tiki the Toucan Style #6657, Baldwin the Eagle Style #6658
