**August 31, 1999**
The 1999 Limited Edition Halloween Puffkins are now being shipped to retailers. Be looking for them to arrive at your favorite Puffkins store this week.



**August 30, 1999**
An article from Mary Beth's Bean Bag World about the Boston Gift show (held from August 28 - Sept. 1) has some interesting info about Puffkins. The article reads that on September 15 Swibco will announce FOUR new Puffkin styles and retire FOUR Puffkins as well. It mentions that Puffkins being featured at the show are Strut for Thanksgiving " ...and four spring styles -- Priscilla the pink lamb, Sunshine the yellow rabbit, Buddy the blue rabbit and Chickity the purple chick. Retailers can order these four styles through October 15, 1999, and they will be shipped in early February."

**August 27, 1999**
According to the SWIBCO Puffkins Update Line, the following Puffkins are temporarily out of stock: Freddy, Squawk, Jules, and Scooter.


**August 26, 1999**
Gus and Olley are now available in the 2000 Girl Scout Catalog as Girl Scout Puffkins along with Bandit. Previously Fetch, Bandit, and Quakster were the only Girl Scout Puffkins. (see Specialty Tags section for more info) Fetch and Quakster are missing from the 2000 Girl Scout Catalog, but can still be ordered online (see 8/24/99 news item). Girl Scout Puffkins are also available in local Girl Scout Council Shops. To order through the catalog, or get more information, call 1-800-221-2707.


**August 25, 1999**
SWIBCO and Mary Beth's Bean Bag World helped celebrate opening day at Pine Tree Camp for handicapped children and adults. "A party was thrown for the campers and included decorating colorful craft frames sent by DreamMakers and Puffkins and copies of Bean Bag World for everyone. Donations of Puffkins toys were provided by Swibco and a financial donation was given by H&S Media, publishers of Bean Bag World." Click HERE today to read the entire article.


**August 24, 1999**
You can now purchase the Girl Scout Puffkins (specially tagged Quakster, Bandit and Fetch) online! Click HERE and then on 'Huggable Friends and Keepsakes'. The Puffkins are on page 4.

The newest Puffkins Collector's Lists are now appearing in stores with info about the Puffkins Collectors' Club on the back. Click HERE to see a picture!


**August 23, 1999**
One of the things Mr. Schoensee was referring to in his statement quoted in our news dated August 18 is that the Schaumberg Flyers baseball team in Illinois will have a Puffkin giveaway night on August 30th. As previously stated in our August 17th news, the Puffkin will be Bosley. Be sure to 'catch it' if you're in the area!

SWIBCO has been chosen by BOOKAZON.COM to be a Mystery Web site. Webmaster, Dan Swanson, was also interviewed. You can read his interview HERE!


**August 18, 1999**
Here's another interesting tidbit from Mary Beth's Bean Bag World. An article about the New York Gift show (held from August 15-19) reads:
"Swibco's got some really cool things in the works. We've been working with sports teams so we are anxious to work some things out." said Swibco's regional sales manager, Paul Schoensee.
We'll have to wait and see exactly what that means! As soon as we hear more, we'll let you know.

Did you know...? The most popular Puffkins out of the newest releases are Cosmo and Happy. The top selling older Puffkins are Lucky, Gus and Bandit, who were introduced as part of the 'Original 13'. Puffkins have staying power!


**August 12, 1999**
As read on Mary Beth's Bean Bag World, staff writer Claudia Dunne reports from the San Francisco, CA gift show that was held from August 7-11, 1999. She writes:

"Puffkins were also present and doing very well. Swibco, the Puffkins parent company, reports that it is still growing and was happy with the show. Mystic 2000 the wizard, which was recently retired, was a huge hit and the company is, as always, looking at new prototypes for more upcoming Puffkins."

**August 6, 1999**
CheckerBee Publishing, who brought us The Official Puffkins Collector's Guide, now has a section on their webpage devoted entirely to Puffkins! Check it out for more interesting reading about Puffkins.


**August 5, 1999**
SWIBCO is expected to make an announcement on September 15th introducing some new releases and retiring some of our older Puffkins friends.


**July 30, 1999**

**July 22, 1999**
The two newest Puffkins to retire are Mystic the Wizard and Danny the dinosaur.


**June 29, 1999**
It seems that Mystic the wizard is in short supply. SWIBCO is limiting the quantity that retailers can order (limited to 8 per retailer). Mystic should arrive in stores soon. Better rush right out to be sure you get one.


**June 24, 1999**

Mystic will not be available as either a magnet or a key ring. Jules will not be made into a magnet, although there will be a key ring available. The keyrings and magnets for Happy, Squawk, Freddy, Scooter, Danny, Jake, Cosmo, Jules (no magnet), and Dillard will be available at the end of June or first part of July.


**June 11, 1999**
As announced in the June 11th issue of The Puffkin Press, SWIBCO will announce the five retirements on Monday, June 14th at noon CST! Check our countdown on our Top Story page. We'll see you there!
