In this episode, Baloo, in mourning for his damaged, and favorite, record, tries a whole slew of crazy schemes in order to earn enough money to but a new one. But when he runs into the infamous Trader Moe, things start getting hectic!
This show was, well, okay. It didn't outright suck, but it wasn't "A Bad Reflection On You" caliber. It was Talespin at it's right round middle of goodness, an average show. The plot, I must admit, was cute, especially with the whole There's-A-Hole-In-The-Bucket-Dear-Liza-Esque script, as in everything came back to the way it was in the beginning. Actually, today was the first time i ever saw this episode. Nevertheless, i came away unimpressed but no less entertained.
Besides, they don't get much worse than "The Incredible Shrinking Molly", which is so bad that they should be slapped.
No character development, except for Kit being a tad more neurotic than usual. By the end of the show he was starting to sound like that Ruby Rhod in 'The Fifth Element". And as for Trader Moe, well, he's just annoying, but here's a quiz question for ya'll, and brownie point to whoever can tell me the answer. Is the guy who does Trader Moe's voice the same guy who does Darkwing Duck's?
But anyway, Kit had a right to be neurotic. Baloo took all his money, the big gray butt! Nevertheless, I was just waiting for Kit's head to explode and splatter all over the Sea Duck's windshield before the show was over. Imagine that! His little prepubescent voice cracks and his head just blows up!!
I was hoping Don Karnage might interfere with this show. No such luck. Oh wait, heh heh, he was busy that night......
I must say, i could understand Baloo's plight about his record. That's one thing i love about Baloo, he has a passion for music. I mean, if one of my Tori Amos or Bjork C.D.'s broke, and it was the last one on Earth, I would have to kill somebody.
Animation note: Baloo and kit were both whitewashing the fence, but magically, the paint never extended beyond a certain point. Hmm. I guess elves, or the Rescue Rangers, nibbled it off.
Okay, on to the things I liked: the name of that city, Moolah-Boolah. Sounds right dirty to me.
BOBO THE RABBIT!!! Oh, was he the man or what!!! I loved his little accent (ya'man) and the way he wouldn't tell Baloo anything unless he paid him. Oh, that bunny! That naughty bunny! So far, that's one more character besides Mr. Percy that I wish we could have seen more of. I also liked the ninja worms. I need to get me some of those.
Alast note or two: Trader Moe's henchmen are great. They should ditch Moe and get a radio show. They'd be rich.
Trader Moe's plane. Niiiiiiiiiice.
No Sumptin-Sumptin award.
So, two stars. Was okay. Yippee.
Till next time then, same bear place, same bear channel.
