In this episode, a scientists employed by Shere Kahn has a top secret project, which he goes to great lengths to protect when he overhears someone's plans to steal it. The scientist goes into hiding and Baloo goes to find him, mistakenly leading the very man who planned to steal the project, er, to it!
First of all, I must commend any use of Shere Kahn, my fiancé, in any show. Any show that starts off with his lovely deep voice and a shot of his tall, tall building immediately gets my attention. Siiiigh. Does anybody know what the building is called? In Gargoyles, David Xanatos's building was the Eerie Building....hmmmmmm. That leads into my whole rant about why David and Shere should team up or are related, but that's for a later date.
This episode was good, but not great, and Shere's presence slapped on the third star. Got a big kick out of the board room scene. Although I must admit, I liked Bubba the scientist a LOT. He was such a cute little bird! And I loved his ideas (Glow in the dark furniture! Ringing clothes!) He seemed like the kind of guy that would be your uncle.
And I MUST say, props to Mr. Percy. How I did like him! Nice voice, and oh- how insidious! The little butthead was trying to pull the wool over Shere's eyes by selling his secret invention to a rival company, but I still liked him. And the neon green eyes! He seems like the kind of guy who would loiter all your money.
The helicopter, or should I say cuisinart, was cool. I've never seen a golden helicopter. Stuff I also liked:
1. That they flew the helicopter through Shere's office window and was the man phased? NO! My baby's never phased!! Also props to Shere's little trick with Baloo's money at the end (TIGHTWAD! I guess I'll just have to inform him once MORE that he has more money than God, but he never listens to me unless I rub his tummy.....)
2. Shere's little ratty secretary. Because if Shere had a bimbo blonde- haired cheetah for a secretary, i'd have to knock his roof in. But I must admit, she was one tough broad. Dialogue: Baloo: "I need to see Mr. Kahn!" Secretary: "Sure thing. I can squeeze you in a week from Thursday." Baloo: "No, NOW! It's a matter of life and death!" Secretary: "Well, in that case, a week from Wednesday. I'm turning into such a softy." GEEZ! Takes after her boss, n'est pas? Shere smiled at her in the end! Giggle :)
3. All the things Baloo did to try to see Mr. Kahn, especially dressing up as a woman and introducing himself as Shere's fiancé! Imagine that! Thinking Shere would mistake Baloo for me! Pshaw! I'm about a size twelve. He must be at least a size twelve hundred! I also liked the "giant pincushion" part. Where did the secretary get that giant pin? One of the perks of working for Shere Kahn, I suppose.
Okay, enough about my future husband. On to the core characters. Rebecca? RE- BECCCA!!! The woman was nowhere to be found. Maybe she was making up for ditching Molly in "The Balooest of the Blue Bloods". Baloo was acting basically like himself in this ep, only stupider. But that's okay. There was one clip that looked like an animation glitch, however, when Kit and Baloo where falling down the tube. Kit was curled up near Baloo's shoulder, and Baloo was sliding on his stomach, and Baloo's body just seemed to go on and on and on, like this never-ending gray pear-shaped mass. Kit acted like Kit as well. Who does Kit's voice?
All in all, good plot, and a very nice subterfuge by Mr. Percy. Why does everyone who works for Kahn look like Bagheera? Is that Kahn's race of cloned workers or just discrimination hiring?
So that about wraps it up for Baloo Thunder. Three stars, pretty good. I would like to see Mr. Percy again, but Shere probably kicked his patootie. Hmmm. I need to talk to him about his temper. M'kay, that's it. Go home.
