In this ep, all flaming heck breaks out when Baloo doesn't get invited to his grade school reunion, and decides to re-enter high school in order to earn his diploma.

Yes kids, the rare thing has happened; I have given a four star review. And even more rare, this episode has nothing to do with Shere or Karnage, AND the title sounds like a bad eighties porn flick.

This episode was excellent, however, an ep that gets straight to the hearts of the characters, and shows how much they truly care for one another. It had some excellent character development, especially when it came to Rebecca's relationship with Baloo. I loved how he thought that she would be mad at him for joining school again, seeing as it would take away from his job; and then when he finally admits it, not only is she not angry, she's supportive. That's one thing I love about Beckers. As bossy and headstrong as she is, she really does care about Baloo and Kit.

I also love the fact that Kit taught Baloo everything he needed to know for the equivalency test. The scene in the airplane was pure genius. I wish I had gotten schooling like that! (Baloo had a great line as well.)

Kit: Well, can you conjugate verbs?
Baloo: THAT is none of your business!

Hee hee. Always a really good sexual entendre right where you need it. There were also tons of little background things in this episode that you have to have a sure eye to catch. One thing in particular that bothered me: The lamp on Baloo's night stand was a hula girl. A HUMAN hula girl. To date, I have never seen a human in the TaleSpin universe. Those poor animals would be scared to death! That reminds me, in "The Balooest of the Bluebloods", the cherubs in Becky's bedroom (a scene that still sends shivers down me spine, all those arrows, :0 )had human faces. hmmm. That's kinda weird. Maybe humans are mythical creatures in the Talespin universe. One never knows.

Sometimes the animation showed a TAD too much. Like the running gag with Baloo getting stuck in the desks. Mmmgnnn! WAY too much bulbous fat coverage for my taste, thank you very much.

There were lots of little side things that I can't remember either. Oh yeah, Lake Veronica. Veronica Lake. Hee hee. Oh yeah, and when he chained his plane to the bike stand. Like someone would jack it.

But anyway, this episode was clever. When Baloo failed that test by one point I was about ready to kill. I think I actually started crying. And then that scene with him and Becky sitting so nicely on the dock with all that pretty, and Becky telling Baloo that it was okay, he tried; what better Talespin scene could you ask for? Something about it just screams "Look at this cartoon! This is a wonderful cartoon!"

But then, of course, Baloo realizes the question about the kumquats is correct, so he should of passed. (Side note; what is it about this show and kumquats, hmm? The writers are obsessed with kumquats! Perhaps this is the influence of that writer who is locked in the dark closet at three in the morning with his ever-present doobie. I bet all they feed him is kumquats, so that's the only food he writes about. It could happen.)

Listening to the new Madonna CD. Damn, this is a good CD. Excuse me for plugging Madonna, but she really outdid herself with this one. (New Tori Amos out today! YIPEEEE! Somebody draw Tori as a bear or a duck and send it to me, kay?)

Anyway, back to kumquats. When he grabbed up that mean ol' principal from his fishing trip and into the Sea-Duck-

Dialogue moment: Principal: You're in a lot of trouble. Baloo: What are you gonna do, expel me?

Hee hee. I'm going to say that to the dean the first thing when I graduate, seeing as she threatened to expel me on more than one occasion (I'm a bad girl! Of course, at a Catholic School, that doesn't take a whole lot.)

Anyway, kumquats. The musical fruit. I was cheering when he uncovered that tree from the snow covered mountain, proving that kumquats DO grow on top of Mount Neverest. I was like, "Go Baloo! You da man! You da fat bear man!"

I cried when he got to go to his reunion, because he sure as heck earned it. I love stuff like that.

So anyway, I loved this episode. TaleSpin at it's best. I hope they show the Plunder and Lightening series soon. I'd love to review that. Hmmm. Just have to wait till it's on, I guess.
