23 Oct 1999 - New ERB / LARKINS Database at Rootsweb. The same Gedcom file surname information that is on this site is now also on Rootsweb in a different and superior format. There are two search engines available: One allows you to search within the database by name and location; the other allows a global search to see if additional information is available on any of the other new WorldConnect Project databases at Rootsweb. As more databases go online there, this will become an increasingly valuable resource -- comparable to GENDEX. (Anyone with a Gedcom file can establish their own database at Rootsweb for free. Check out the "Add your GEDCOM" link at the bottom of the page.) The Rootsweb format has no popup ads and gives each individual a separate data page with linked ascendency and decendency charts. The descendant outlines there have more complete dates and are easier to work with than the Outline of the Descendants of Nicholas Erb available here. |
