My second career (after being a mom) is education. I have taught for 25 years in the Perry-Casa, Pulaski County, and the DeValls Bluff School Districts. This next year will be my tenth in the Des Arc School District
where I teach (this next year anyway!) English I, world geography, and speech, and serve as sponsor for the 9th grade class, Drama Club, and National Honor Society.
I also hold certificates in Gifted Education and Special
Education. (I am a graduate of Ft.
Smith Southside and the University of Central
Arkansas.) For the most part, I have found teaching to be a rewarding profession.
Much to my amazement, I was named 1997 and 2000 Teacher of the Year, honors of which I am
very proud.
I have many hobbies and interests, one of which is obvious from looking at this page. We
are extremely fond of our pets, and, like many of you, consider them family members. Our
"brood" includes four cats, one dog, and several fish. We also have various
and sundry critters (such as possums and armadillos that wander in and out of the yard, as
well as a racoon who sleeps in our garage). My special pet is Boo, an adorable kitten that
was a Christmas gift from my family (aren't they sweet?). To find out more about our
pets, be sure to visit Libby's Pet Page.
I also very much enjoy playing around on the Net. I have made some wonderful friends
while chatting and visiting homepages. Be sure to check out my Favorite Links page!
I can usually be found with my nose in a book. My favorite authors are John Grisham, Steven
King, Rosamund Pilcher, Sue Grafton, Diana Gabaldon and just about anybody who writes anything! I also read everything I can get my hands on about Scotland and England. I enjoy many movies and a wide variety of music. In addition, I really love to travel. I have made two trips to Europe and am busy planning a third. We will be visiting Ireland, Wales, England, and Paris in the summer of 2003.
Now that you know a little bit about me, please drop in on the other sites that you
find on these pages and get to know the rest of my family. Also, feel free to e-mail me (be sure to remove the x in front of the address); I would love to hear from
you!
Pet him to find out where you can get your own!
