Hanukkah

Since Hanukkah is the Festival of Lights, I have decided to dedicate the lights of Hanukkah to people who have added light to my life. Each night will be dedicated to a different person or people.

December 2, 2002 -- The Fourth Night of Hanukkah

menorah with four candles lit Blessed are You, O Lord, our God, King of the universe, who has sanctified us with His commandments and has commanded us to kindle the Hanukkah light.

Blessed are You, O Lord, our God, King of the universe, who wrought miracles for our forefathers, in those days at this season.

Playing in the background is "Ma Oz Tsur", traditionally sung after lighting the Hanukkah candles.

The fourth light of Hanukkah I dedicate to my son, Yovel. Yovel was our "surprise baby"--unplanned, but not unwanted. He was my 32nd birthday present--born just two weeks before my birthday.

Yovel has brought out the best in all of us. He has shown us that there is always more than enough love to go around. He has brought even more laughter and happiness into our home.

Yovel, my sweet little boy, no words could describe the love I feel every time you look into my eyes and smile, every time you kiss me or throw your arms around me and hug me and every time I hear you say "imma" ("mommy"). As you discover the world, I feel as if I am rediscovering it with you. Thank you for the light that you have added to our home.
