Straya is a black smoke female and is one of a litter of five wonderful kittens out of CFA GRC Avicats Sophrosina Marfisa, DM and CFA GRC, GRP Stormwatch's Tatsumaki. Straya has a wonderful head and a nice long body, and her expression is very much like her mom, Sophie. Straya is living happily in Finland in Escape's cattery, where she is much loved and was shown beautifully. Her show career has been outstanding; in addition to achieving the coveted title of European Champion, the top title in FIFe. she was Finland's Best Maine Coon breeding female of the year in 1998 and second best in 1999, and then Best again in 2001. For the year 1998 she was also 5th Best Breeding Female of all breeds, Second Best Maine Coon Kitten, Second Best Young Maine Coon, and 8th Best Young Cat of all breeds in Finland. In 2002 she has won more top awards as well; she was the Best Breeding Queen in POH-KIS for the year, as well as 8th best breeding female in Finland. Her sucess has been incredible and we are very proud of her and her owners.

Straya has been producing many terrific kittens for Escape's cattery- the quality of her offspring has won her the prestigious "Distinguished Merit" (DM) title in FIFE as a top producer for the breed, for she has already produced at least five International Champions. This is an especially great accomplishment as all the qualifying kittens were from Straya's first two litters. Straya is also the mother of the lovely Escape's Izabella Coonzales, 2002 World Winner, and the Best semi-longhair kitten in Finland for the year 2002.

Straya's littermates are CFA GRC Avicats Arethusa, CFA GRC Avicats Publius Ovidius Naso, CFA GRC Avicats Versace of Coonoquan and CFA GRC, GRP Avicats Nuvoletta of Stormwatch. Other full sibling include CFA GRC Avicats Ludovico Ariosto, CFA GRC Avicats Phaethusa Stria, and CFA GRC, RW Avicats Orlando Furioso.
