BAND AID
July 1985: Joined Bob Geldof's Live Aid concert to help feed the starving people of Ethiopia. Over seventy bands and artists gave their time and fame to raise money for the cause. Live Aid raised $90,000,000. Band Aid was the precursor of United Artists for Africa.

OUTLANDOS TRUST
1980: The Police provided musical instruments for youth clubs in Britain. It began on Christmas 1979, The Police played a concert in London for which the entrance fee was a toy, which went to a charity for children.
