Today's appointment was a pretty boring one. I got my weight taken as soon as I got there, and (GADZOOKS!) I have gained 7 pounds since last month! I was very concerned with the weight gain, but the doctor told me that everyone has gained a lot of weight this month, because it's so darn hot already here in Florida, and everyone is starting to retain lots of water. No wonder my ankles are swelling already!

My blood pressure was still great...it was 82/50! The nurse said she couldn't really hear it in my left arm, so she took it on my right arm, and said "Is your blood pressure usually really low?" I told her yes, and that's when she told me just how low it was! Hopefully, it will stay low for the remainder of my pregnancy, too!

The doctor checked the size of my uterus, but silly me forgot to ask him what I was measuring. Then, he used the Doppler to check the baby's heartbeat, and as soon as he pressed it into my belly, my little stinker princess thought it would be funny to kick the microphone! She's going to be JUST like her big brother, I can already tell! I asked him what her heartrate was, and he said that the machine doesn't tell him, but he said it was about 140. Seems kind-of low to me at this stage of my pregnancy, but he wasn't concerned in the least!

I asked the OB about all of the pelvic pressure I have been feeling, and he reassured me that it's quite normal for me to be feeling this was this early, because this is my second pregnancy. He told me I'd basically be feeling EVERYTHING a lot earlier than the last time, because your body just doesn't go back the way it used to be before you had kids. Sheesh, you can say that again! Let's just hope that if everything happens much quicker in subsequent pregnancies, then my labor will follow suit, too!

That's about it for today's appointment...I have my glucose tolerance test next month...YUCK! It really wasn't all that bad when I took it the last time, so hopefully it'll go as well this time around.
