Working years - Citicorp
I couldn't find another job in the writing field. I was growing desperate. So, I joined the newly opened Citicorp Trade Services Limited as a Trade Processor. I was among the 9 pioneer Trade Processors hired by the company. My eight buddies were Francis, Jenny, Patricia, Pei Ping, Phaik See, Zura, Khairul and Val. Wow! The girl-to-boy ratio was 2 to 1!
Francis is an Indian girl who speaks Hokkien like her mother tongue. Her favourite phrase was Dannyyyyyyyy......... Hahahaha.... Please don't get me wrong. Nothing happened. This happened only when I tease her (which was rather often) or when I tell a particularly descriptive joke. I lost contact with her after a while. Apparently, she went to Kuala Lumpur and "forgot" to inform me. Maybe she's afraid of my jokes. Hahahaha........
Jenny, a Chinese girl who's a good listener. I could confide anything to her. She's now some sort of bigwig at Maybank.
Patricia or Pat as we call her, is a petite fun-loving gal. She's married with a kid now. So, forget it guys. But, she usually wears a short skirt. Phew!
Pei Ping's a quiet, homely Chinese gal. She's the sort of girl-next-door mothers would like their sons to marry. When I first met her at the office, I asked her where I saw her from. No, no. It wasn't that old line. I really did meet her before. I was closing my bank account at Bank Simpanan Nasional where she was the staff serving me. She's a real blusher. Hehehehe...... I could usually make her blush with my jokes.
Phaik See's another nice Chinese gal. Unfortunately, she was the first among us to leave the company. Fun gal to be with. But then, all the gals were fun to be with.
The only Malay girl in our group was Zura. Petite gal with a fiery temper. You should see her when she throws her tantrum. Extremely smart. Like the rest of the gals in the group, she was also very sexy. I enjoy telling her my jokes and see her reaction. Hehehehe.......
Khairul, a Malay guy with a great sense of humour was our DJ. If you want to have a few laughs, talk to him. Now, he runs his own broadcasting company in Kuala Lumpur. His dream came true. He's the best guy for the job anyway.
Valentine or as we called him, Val, was a big guy. The guy with the most corrupted mind. The jokes he told us even shocked me. But, if you want to listen to a crude joke, he's the guy you must have around. He's now a branch manager of Fella Design. He's also married with a kid, I hear.
So, what happens when the three guys get together? Hehehehe....... jokes and laughter and teasing. And some of the girls would blush or groan. I think by the time we started leaving the company, the girls lost their ability to blush.
There were other people of different levels as well. Amy, the secretary. Well, she lived up to the name; Sexytary. Phew! Then, there was Lynette. Man! That lady made me blush a few times. And I thought my jokes were crude. She's a fun lady to have around. When the two of us start our jokes...... that's when the laughter starts. Then, there was Joshua, a very clean-minded guy when he came in. Well, not after we got through with him. Hehehehe.............. One of the guys I could talk with. Fun to tell jokes to. Of course, we also had our loveable and innocent Yih Ying. She blushed so easily. Another girl-next-door. Too bad she's a workaholic. A guy doesn't stand a chance getting a date with her. I know, I tried. Hmm.... I wonder if any guy has succeeded after all these years.
It was very exciting. Having so many innocent girls to tease and joke with can sure be a lot of fun. Excitement turned to fear when we had to process transactions worth hundreds of million USD. I know I was sweating like crazy. And like all new companies, we had our problems with equipment, etc. That sure kept us on our toes. Those days, I worked from 8am to midnight. I met various types of people there. Some were very nice. Some were very horny. :) hehehehe...... I really enjoyed their company. Some were not so nice. It was during my time here that I noticed how people can change when they reach a certain level in their careers. Some people who climbed from a humble beginning actually forgot where they came from. I made a promise to myself that I will learn from their mistake and not be like them. Since then, I've been constantly reminding myself of my humble beginnings. I am determined not to change.
