In November of 1995, Boyz II Men's All Around the World Tour had ended, II was still selling a lot, and Boyz II Men were actually resting after II had been so successful. But, Boyz II Men's label, the legendary Motown Records wanted to make more money out of them while they were still the most popular group in the world. Since there were basically no other money-making artists on Motown, they had to find a way to make more money out of them. What they did was release an album, that can be considered Boyz II Men's worst album ever. The album was called The Remix Collection, an album full of remixes and an unreleased song. The album was released by Motown, without Boyz II Men's permission. Since Boyz II Men were still popular, the album sold over 1 million copies, got to #15 on Billboard's Top 200 Albums, and #17 on The Top R&B Albums Chart. "I Remember" was previously released a few months before The Remix Collection came out, without a video to support it. The song got to #46 on The Billboard Hot 100 Singles, and to #30 on the R&B Singles Chart. The album also contained remixes of such hit songs as "Uhh Ahh," "I'll Make Love to You," "On Bended Knee," "Motownphilly," "Brokenhearted" (Brandy & Wanya), "Hey Lover" (with LL Cool J) and more. Since Motown released the album so they could make more money off of Boyz II Men, they of course were not at all happy about that. A few days after the album was released, Nate made a statement to USA Today saying that they were not happy at all by the release of The Remix Collection because "it was not their best work." Many fans agree it was not their best work at all also. At this point, Boyz II Men and Motown were basically butting heads and not getting along at all. Boyz II Men were threatening to leave their million dollar contract for someone else. Boyz II Men were very close to leaving Motown, but they decided not to, and in the long run, it would be the worst mistake they've ever made in their musical careers.

By December of 1995, "One Sweet Day" had not broken the famous record yet, but it was getting close. Boyz II Men also were requested upon to perform for the Pope on his visit to Baltimore, Maryland. They of course did and gave a stellar performance. December also marked the first time a Boyz II Men member really went solo. Yes, Wanya did go solo, but he still sang the song with Brandy. Shawn really went solo. He went solo for a song that he wrote for the Mr. Holland's Opus Soundtrack, a song called "Visions of a Sunset." The song was basically combining musical things, and getting over adversities. The song did very well on the Billboard R&B Singles Charts, getting to #18, and got a lot of radio air play. Also in December of 1995, the year-end charts were let out of the biggest tours of 1995. Boyz II Men were at #2, grossing a lot of money (OK, I forgot the actual amount, but it was more than $10 million). The reunited Eagles beat them at #1.
