Wow! It has been even longer time since we have updated this page. Springtime is here and Summer is almost. Things are great with Marg and Roy. The weather this year has been very strange. Cold, HOT, rain, nice, sunny, WET, cold, sunny....
We have been in our Middleridge home in Virginia without any major vacations since our fantastic Christmas trip to visit with my Dad and Margaret's Mom in sunny California, and beautifully sunny and nice it was. We visited lots of our friends and went to the major tourist sites ( Disneyland and Universal Studios). Todd and Brandty went out to Magic Mountain for the "thrill" rides. We saw Cirque du Soleil's "Dralion"; it was great. We staying in a great little beach place in Oceanside, and did I say, the weather was great.
Brandt is putting in an extra semester at James Madison University so he can graduate with a Bachelors of Science in Integrated Science and Technology with concentrations in Information Knowledge Management and Environment, and in Theatre and Dance with a concentration in Dance, and a minor in Computer Science. He is working on his Senior year project in conjuction with the Department of Parks. For 6 weeks this summer he will be attending Duke University for their American Dance Festival.
Todd has finally graduated from Virginia Tech with a Bachelor of Science in Business degree with a Major in Management Science and Information Technology. He is currently "living at home" but spending most of his time at his job with RGIS Inventory Specialists as a Supervisor.
Margaret and Roy have been busy as ever. Margaret continues to work for the Fairfax County schools and their "special needs" children. She is getting ready to help with a church production of Brigadoon. Before rehearsals start, there's a trip to Kentucky for a work camp with church youth to help the people of Appalachia.
Roy has "retired" from independent consulting in favor of working for a great small company, AugustSchell Enterprises where he continues to help support the EPA's Inspector General's database and support programs as outside consultant. He current task is to help "bring their access to the web". He is working with Oracle, ColdFusion, and Java to achieve this goal.
Roy continues to enjoy reading all sorts of books and last year purchased an Rocket "eBook" ( electronic library ). It's the size of a paperback book and holds about fifty books. It's GREAT!
At the end of last year he bought a DVD player and enhanced the home audio system for 5-1 sound. He has always been "into movie studies", but now is in it deep. He is currently doing an in depth study of study of Stanley Kubrick, i.e., reading all books about him and his films, viewing ( and owning ) them on DVD, and even reading the books that the screenplays are based on. If you have a DVD player, check out NetFlix for a great internet place to "rent" DVDs. Also for all the possible information about any movie, visit the Internet Movie Database
We continue to enjoy driving the scenic roads of Virginia and other neighboring states in our Miata convertible roadster with the top down whenever possible ( which is MOST of the time). If you want to find our more about the Miata, check out the National Miata website
