Long ago in the Marine Corps *** Before the mothers of the country got concerned
about how their baby boys were being treated in boot camp *** Or at least at a time when the fathers of our nation had the guts to stand
up to the mothers *** Marines were taught to work hard and play hard. Traditionally, a good part of that hard play was carried out in the
Marine Corps clubs. This is my dedication to those clubs of the past. They no longer exist as they were. I for one believe this is a loss.
Times change and societies change. But I cannot understand asking men to go about the business of war, a business
that is contrary to nature, and ask him to do it soberly.
