Lesson 2 - HTML
coding for pages using Border Backgrounds
Border Backgrounds - Any
bordered background, by any designer, will appear on your page
differently, depending on the browser you or visitors are using.The only way to overcome
this,
is by using the following method. If not, the text on your page will either go too far
right or left
thus covering your special border.
Insert a clear gif, I have one here for you to download, in the small table below.You
won't
be able to see the image, but it is there!!!!! Just right click in the table, and
choose"save as..."
from your menu. Remember what you have called it( best to stick to "clear gif.")
and which folder it is in. You will need to enter that information in the html below.
Place the following html on your page. Just alter the parts in RED,
to suit your requirements.
The width of your border, refers to the patterned aspect ONLY.
<html>
<head>
<title>YOUR PAGE TITLE</title>
</head>
<body background="your border
image/.jpg or gif" bgcolor="#FFFFFF">
<table width="100%">
<tr>
<td valign="top" width="120"><! Border Content -><img
src="yourfolder/clear.gif"
width="width of your border" height="1">
<! End Border Content -> </td>
YOUR PAGE CONTENT GOES HERE
</tr>
</table>
<! End Page Content ->
</body>
</html>
Use the above html and your pages will look immaculate, when viewed by any visitor.
