Our poor kitchen has gone through many changes. When we moved in, there was a single wall of cabinets/counter against the west wall. Since is was a 10 foot ceiling, the top two shelves were useless for anything needed on a daily basis.....I'm 5'2" LOL. The first thing we did, was stain the cabinets gold and avacado. We then used rub on decals of owls etc. When the cabinets were finished, I put brown checked contact paper on the north wall; it's amazing what you can do on a tight budget. The ceiling tiles were then painted gold, which helped to brighten up the room. Below are several photos of our kitchen's different looks, taken over the space of time.
