2000 Competition
The popular Bank of Ireland Ulster Intermediate championship competition,
hosted by the Clontibret O'Neills club, enters its third year in 2000.
Leitrim Fontenoys from Down and Brackaville of Tyrone have won the
first two titles in what has quickly become a very prestigious event on
the inter-county club calendar.
It is hoped to start play in the 2000 renewal in late January and all
nine Ulster counties will be represented.
Along with Eire Og from Armagh, the line-up includes the likes of
Belcoo of Fermanagh, with county full forward Stephen a key man for them.
Knockbride from Cavan will be keen to stake a bold bid for honours,
with Larry and Peter Reilly involved, plus even closer to home last years
double champions, Inniskeen will carry the Oriel flag.
Tyrone club Brackaville played some fine football en route to glory in
2000 and the Red Hand county are represented this time by Beragh who have
Terry McKenna and Ciaran Cox to help lead their charge.
Add in the silverware winners Craigbane from Derry, Tir na nOg from Antrim,
Attical from Down and Termon from Donegal and
you have the makings of a vintage competition.
