The BeOS is a totally new OS with totally new features. The company which makes it (Be) calls it the "Media OS". The good news is that the BeOS can run on the same machine with Windows, the Mac OS, and other operating systems. It boasts features not currently found in any operating system in the market since the operating system was build from teh ground up without any legacy baggage.

I have been recently informed that BeOS just came out with version 4. I havealso found out that there is an Windows emulator for it. I willI give you information when I find out more about this emulator. I don't know what kind of future the operating system has but it appears to be going after markets Apple has captured with the Macintosh. Currently the OSes still in beta mode with a free download. People tend to like to OS after using it for the first time from what I heard on the Internet. Your basically taking a chance if you decide to go this direction.
