San Francisco Bay Area
Project SEED
Since its beginning in Berkeley, California in 1963, Project SEED has used abstract high school and college level mathematics, taught Socratically, to successfully build student confidence and academic performance. The Bay area program currently serves the West Contra Costa County and Oakland school districts. As an outgrowth of its regular direct classroom instruction, the Bay area program offers a summer school program in both algebra and writing to cultivate and enhance critical thinking and creative expression. This program allows Project SEED to reach more students and to continue to affect those students who have received previous SEED instruction.
