Project SEED in the
Camden and Philadelphia Area
The Philadelphia Area SEED program teaches confidence-building, higher-order mathematics in the school districts of Philadelphia, PA and Camden, NJ. In fact, Project SEED works with schools in Phildelphia's empowerment zone. Because Project SEED realizes that the achievements of students in the classrooms are enhanced by parents who participate in academic activities, the Philadelphia program, like the other SEED sites, provides a series of family workshops. The Philadelphia parent workshops, covering topics ranging from supporting a child's math education at home to algebra curriculum designed to help parents increase their own mathematical knowledge, have been enthusiastically appreciated by parents.
