8 Ha'arbaa st. Tel Aviv P Atmosphere & Design - They claim to provide a "London" atmosphere but it feels more like your average Apropo. The music is too loud and disturbed us from hearing each other speak at times. Only two good points:
Price - Outrageous. 424 NS for three people including 6 drinks, one coffee, one 100 NS meat plate, french fries and two desserts . The price already included 12% service which was very annoying due to the fact the waitresses did not deserve any tip. Recommended dish - Tap water. The meat plate (including ostrich fillet, sirloin, antreccot and hamburger) was lame, the fries were anemic. The sauces were nice though.. The desserts (one black and one white chocolate mousse) were nothing to write home about. The cocktails were disgraceful (especially
my capperania). The waitress couldn't explain what is each cocktail and
had to run over and over again to the bartender to answer our questions.
The bartender, by the way, couldn't even make me a jinn vodka (a hint -
you take jinn and vodka and mix them together. Preferably add a cherry).
My friend says, however, that they are among the only ones in Tel Aviv
to serve Guinness from the tap.
In conclusion... If you go there, do it for the company. I recommend a combination of beer and peanuts, just to be on the safe side. |

13 Najara st. Tel Aviv 03-5175065 R They also make deliveries Atmosphere & Design - Dark old street leads to a warm, happy pasta and pizza place. They have two sections - one with regular wooden tables and one with semi bar tables (very tall with matching tall sits). Cool. The rest rooms are incredibly ugly, illustrated by a scary fiery books cut & paste artist. Oh well.. Service - Well.. My (new) partner sorts them up as follows: the worried waiter (walks around with a Jesuit expression, eyebrows always wrinkled with worries. Poor man..) the hurry waiter (always running somewhere) etc. I add the "let me stroke your buns as I tell you of the dish of the day" red head waitress who, if only would have touched my partner one more single time, would have found herself cut in half on a steak. Sorry, I do not appreciate waitresses who come on to my partners while I am sitting right across the table. Price - 201 NS not including tip. This includes one starter, two main courses, three desserts (..) two glasses of wine and one latte. A very good price boys and girls! Recommended dish - We had a surpassingly good stropolini (pizza dough rolled up filled with) sweet potato, mozzarella and anchovies (which were nowhere to be found, by the way). I had the spaghetti mariner with shrimps (fresh and chunky, lovely) and kalamari in cream sauce. Nice. My partner had a yummy penne in cream and lobster sauce with asparagus. It was excellent though (as was mine) pretty heavy. THe desserts were good - a great rich chocolate tartufo (balls of chocolate truffles with cocoa swimming in mild vanilla sauce). It almost killed me, as I choked while mistakenly inhaling the cocoa powder (I am sure the waitress would have loved that, maybe she even did that on propose). It was so good we had to take one for our friend at work who loves chocolate. Needless to say she was very happy. My chocolate cassette, made with biscuits and white and dark chocolate was a bit dry but also very yummy. In conclusion... Great price for fun food. I hear their take away is fun fun fun. |
