Letter to a Grown-Up Child
When you were younger and had much growing to do
Those chores kept us busy, we didn't always have time
You'd ask for a new toy, such as building blocks or a doll
You'd ask to go to the museum, the park, or perhaps the fair
Now you are older, and will soon be on your own
Time will go fast for you, for us it'll seem still
We'll remember your childhood, and wish we could now do
