ditko's VISUAL
TEMPLATES

You may have seen signature Ditko characters, or characteristics of his art, in his most popular titles like the AMAZING SPIDERMAN or DR. STRANGE, but like all artists, their careers are developmental archs. While the Overstreet Price Guide loves to pump their pre-hero prototypes, my wallet thanks the stars they have ignored looking back at Ditko's 1950s/very-early-'60s Charlton work to find all sorts of visual templates for characters/concepts which would later pop up in Ditko's big two Marvel books. This section takes a look at Ditko's work prior to his start on AMAZING SPIDER-MAN or DR. STRANGE, pointing out some never-before mentioned examples of VISUAL TEMPLATES, with both the ''proto-type'' and the ''finished'' concept displayed. If you have noticed any such visual templates missing here, feel free to E-MAIL ME.
