- All baptised at Parish of
Killaloe/O'Briensbridge in County Clare, Ireland.
Residence given as Kilcredaun.
- The church records for this parish do not
commence until 1828, so there may have been earlier
children born who are not recorded.
- A John Storan and his wife Margaret
Kennedy resided at O'Briensbridge, and are recorded as
having a son John Storan (baptised 23 December 1828).
Margaret was probably a sister of either Laurence Kennedy
or Barbara Kennedy.
- No Kennedy marriages or deaths are evident
at Kilcredaun in the civil records (available from 1864).
Thus it is expected that the entire family emigrated from
the area before then. The next family entry located is
for Sarah at her marriage in Victoria, Australia in 1857.

124. Bryan Kennedy
Son: Laurence Kennedy. (This
connection is probable but not proved.)
- A Bryan Kennedy is registered as holding land at
Kilcredaun in the 1824 Tithe allotment records (holding 1
acre of second quality land, 2 acres 2 rods of third
quality land, and 2 perches of fourth quality land). This
is the only Kennedy listed in Kilcredaun in 1824 {where
Laurence was listed as residing with the baptism of his
children from 1831), therefore Bryan was probably the
father of Laurence Kennedy (or possibly Barbara Kennedy).

Distant

Distant ancestors where details of descendancy connections
are not known:
Walter Purcell
Descendant: Mary Purcell.
All Irish Purcells seem to descend from Walter Purcell, who
came to Ireland in the early thirteenth century in the train of
the Marshall. Walter obtained lands in Kilkenny while his son
Hugh later obtained lands in Tipperary in marriage with an
heiress. Several junior branches derive from other family members
of the same period, located on lands in Carlow, Limerick and
Kilkenny. From Walter Purcell ancestry can be traced back through
Norman England, Normandy, France, Spain back to the Visigothic
king Theodorid 1 born in 393 AD.
"Xenia"
Direct ancestor on the extended female line
from 25000 years ago as revealed by genetic testing.
