The majority of the ancestral information on the Richards and initial sections of the Nathaniel Eddy lines was resourced and transcribed from the researches over many years of Lorna Lindsay of New Zealand, with additions sourced from K. Weigel's Cornish database site and further extensions from the "Herald's visitations of Cornwall". The earlier information on the Christophers line comes from the researches of Marian Tucker Christophers of USA, the information on the Major line based on researches of Dean Pascoe of Australia, Bennetts line extensions based on researches of Mark Robert Harry, while the Renoden line ancestry comes from The Renowden Family One Name Study. Died: 1 August 1926 at 17 Surrrey St, Grey Lynn, Auckland, New Zealand of bronchio-pneumonia, age 77.
Buried: 3 Aug 1926 at Hillsborough, Auckland, New Zealand.

• Emigrated to New Zealand with three children (John, Catherine and Thomas, who was about 2 years old in 1874). After they reached New Zealand the little girl died, and when another daughter was born they called her Kate (she married Antony and loived to be 102 ). John died in a mine disaster - he must have been married as he had a deaughter called Leathie (real name Violet).
• Emirated on the ship "Oxford"; left E. India docks on 5 June 1874, reaching Auckland on 8 September 1874.
• In New Zealand became a goldminer at Thames.
• John Richards and Catherine Eddy were fifth cousins, having the same greatx4 grandparents in John Christopher and Elizabeth Christopher (nee Hollow).

   (ii) Margaret Jane. Born 19 April 1901 at Thames. Married Edward Stucky on 7 April 1925. Died 10 September 1973 at Ponsonby, Auckland. Children - Dorothy, Tom.
   (iii) Helen Alma. Born 2 July 1907 at Thames. Married Leo Alexander Robert Johnston on April 1929. Children - Brian.
   (iv) Emma Dulcie. Born 4 December 1913 at Thames. Married Edward Eaton. Children - Bettie.
   (v) Cyril Edward. Born 8 July 1918 at Thames. Married Marian McDonald Crawford in Auckland c. 1941-2. Children - Hugh Thomas, Elizabeth Kate, Sandra Mary.

• This family lived for many years at Trelyon Downs, Halsetown, St Ives. Thomas was a blacksmith, probably in conjunction with one of the many mines in the area.

In 1901 census was living in a three room dwelling in Barnoon Terrace, St Ives, at the age of 75 years, with her daughter Mary Taylor.

• In the 1841 census William & Betsy EDDDY were living at Kerrow, Zennor. He was a tin miner.
• In the 1851 census, William and Elizabeth EDDY were at Brega, Towednack and William
  (37) was a miner.
• In the 1861 census they were at The Stennack, St. Ives, and William (47) was a cartman.

• Thomas Richards died in 1830 leaving his wife a widow. In the 1841 census Prudence Richards (widow) was living at The Stennack ( a street in the town of St Ives) with four children - Thomas age 22 (miner), Anne age 20, William age 17, John Major age 11.

82. John Harry

Baptised: 18 July 1798 at St Ives, Cornwall, England.
Married: Charity Christophers on 17 January 1824 at Uny-lelant, Cornwall, England.
Died: September 1831 at St Ives.
Buried: 4 September 1831 at Lelant.

• In his will which went through Probate on 27 June 1832. He left bequests to his wife Charity and two daughters Grace and Jane, so it looks as if the son died earlier. John HARRY was still 'of the parish of Lelant' when he died.
  The executors were his two brothers Thomas and James HARRY.(One of the witnesses was a Robert HARRY).
• At the time of John's death they were living at Trelyon Downs. St. Ives, but he was buried in his home parish of Lelant aged 34 yrs.
• The marriage of John HARRY and Charity CHRISTOPHERS , bachelor and spinster of Euny-Lelant....They were married 17 January 1824 at Lelant by Charles ALDRICH, curate. Thomas signed his name and Charity made her mark. Witnesses were William CHRISTOPHER and Sampson HAWES, who both signed their own names.

• After John HARRY died, Charity re-married, this time to John TYACK, miner..this was before the 1841 census.It is suspected that John TYACK also died before the marriage was very old. Charity TYACK and daughters Jane and Grace HARRY were found in one of the St. Ives censuses.

Married: Grace Cock on 10 August 1799 at Zennor, Cornwall, England.
Occupation: Miner.
Died: 18 September 1843 at the Union Workhouse, Madron, Cornwall, of "consumption" age 66. Listed as a Pauper.

Baptised: 14 October 1787 at Lelant, Cornwall, England.
Married: Elizabeth Thomas on 19 March 1813 at Lelant, Cornwall.
Occupation: Butcher of St Ives.

Daughter: Elizabeth Eddy - other children.

• Elizabeth signed the marriage register while Isaac made his mark. Isaac was from St Ives parish and Elizabeth from Lelant parish. Marriage witnesses were John Thomas and Richard Pearce.
• Isaac and Elizabeth were third cousins, having the same greatx2 grandparent in William Burrell.

Baptised 23 August 1789 at St Ives.
Maiden name: Elizabeth Thomas.
Married: Isaac Pearce on 19 March 1813 at Lelant, Cornwall.
Died: 24 March 1854 at Stannack, St Ives, age 66 (of bronchitis). Buried at Lelant on 28 March.
