Maligcong Rice Terraces is just like the more famous Banawe Rice Terraces: With one exception - This Rice terraces were carved from the mountainside and were reinforced with stones. The Maligcong tribe labored harder than those who made the Banawe Rice Terraces, cracking boulders to more manageable sizes, or carrying stones from the river and stream beds in order to reinforce these rice paddies, and thus conserve more water. This terraces are not easily accessible, where one can either hike from Bontoc, Mountain Province, or wait for one of the small jeeps that ply the very rough and steep road to the terraces. Hitchhiking is not an option.

  At Latang at the Amlusong River, home of very tasty eels... I still wonder if it has not been overfished. I loved bathing here when I was an adolescent. The water is very cold, and deep. sure nice to go diving here.
