One of the major issues on Legends involves the time period that Legends is set in (Venice, 1199). Obviously, no one is going to be able to portray a character with 100% historical accuracy. Nor are we trying to be uptight with keeping Legends completely true to history. The great thing about role-playing is that it allows people to adapt and create within an environment. The same is true even in a setting from the past. There's no point in getting worried over exact details.

But, on the other hand, we are not saying that you should role-play as you would if your character is in a modern setting. Clearly there will be differences in the mindset of the people of that time period as well as differences in technology and daily life. It is important to shape your character around a general knowledge of this point in history. No, you do not have to be a history major, but it is helpful if you have the general idea how things are as far as lifestyle (ie no baths, strong connections with the Church, the people are very superstitious, etc).

We know that character development is very important, so we are providing a listing of links to various and indepth resources. Referring to these resources is not a requirement for role-play on Legends, but it will certainly help you become more familiar with the setting, the time period and the game itself. This list will be updated as often as we find more links. If you have a page or know of a page that would be a useful resource, please send us the url.
