(Catherina Von Schell)
A French girl at Piz Gloria, and the second of Bond's conquests on his first night there. (OHMSS)

Naomi
(Caroline Munro)
One of Stromberg's assistants, presumably replacing the one he dropped into a shark tank. She takes Bond and Anya to Atlantis, giving Anya the chance to get annoyed with Bond's flirting, but not long after takes control of a helicopter with the intention of wiping the two ersatz marine biologists from the face of the planet. Her come-uppance arrives when Bond, having driven his submersible Lotus into the sea, takes out her helicopter with a guided missile. (TSWLM)

Nara
One of Hip's nieces, who easily outfights the students of Hai Fat's karate school - her father is himself a karate master! (TMWTGG)

N-ASAZ

Bond suspects something is wrong when 'Nash' orders red wine with fish, but even then doesn't realise how wrong until too late. (FRWL)

National Fine Art Repository
A Moscow museum which houses, among other treasures, a number of Faberge eggs and the Romanov star. (OP)

NATO Project
A SPECTRE plan masterminded by Largo, involving the blackmail of the NATO members to the sum of $280 million (£100 million) by hijacking a Vulcan bomber in flight and stealing the nuclear warheads aboard it. The plan had been over two years in the making, involving the surgical alteration of Angelo to resemble French Commandant Derval. (TB)

(Michael Osborne)
The Royal Navy officer who greets Bond when he arrives aboard MI6's hidden operations centre in the wreck of the Queen Elizabeth. (TMWTGG)

Nayamo, Saito
A sumo wrestler, and also one of Bond's contacts in Japan. (YOLT)

Necros
(Andreas Wisniewski)
An assassin working for Koskov and Whitaker, though his ultimate motives are apparently political in nature - he wants to aid his brothers in arms fighting for world revolution. He has worked with the KGB in the past, and is a highly trained killer with an unusual gift - a talent for vocal mimicry that lets him instantly imitate any voice or accent he hears. He uses this ability first to infiltrate the MI6 safe house at Blayden, taking on the voices of first a milkman and then an MI6 operative, while hurling his exploding milk bottles around. Because he is known to the KGB, he is reluctant to kill Pushkin, but has no problem with murdering Saunders in order to provoke Bond into performing the act. He accompanies Koskov to Afghanistan for his drugs deal, where he ends up fighting with Bond while dangling from the cargo net of a stolen Russian aircraft. His only hold being Bond's boot, he watches helplessly as Bond cuts through his bootlaces, sending the assassin tumbling to his death. (TLD)

NE-5961
Registration number of one of the Mercedes saloons used to pursue Bond's Aston Martin around Goldfinger's Swiss factory. Despite smashing into a tree, it somehow instantly repairs the damage and continues the chase! Bond's oil sprayers then send the car over a cliff where it explodes, yet, miraculously, seconds later it reappeares unharmed and corners the DB5 at a dead end. German workmanship just can't be faulted... (GF)

NE-9641
Registration number of one of the Mercedes saloons used to pursue Bond's Aston Martin around Goldfinger's Swiss factory. (GF)

Nick Nack
(Herve Villechaize)
Scaramanga's diminutive French manservant and henchman, Nick Nack takes care of all Scaramanga's domestic needs (he is a cordon bleu chef) on his private island - as well as supervising the duels to the death with other assassins that keep the villain on his toes. If Scaramanga dies, Nick Nack will inherit his millions, though he doesn't seem in any particular hurry for this to happen.
Nick Nack doesn't seem troubled by getting in on the action - he would have stabbed Bond to death with a pitchfork if Hai Fat hadn't intervened, and after his boss's death and the destruction of his island, he is determined to get revenge. He slips aboard Scaramanga's junk before Bond and Goodnight commandeer it, and armed with a knife prepares to kill the pair in bed. Luckily Goodnight spots him, and after a chase around the cabin, where Nick Nack kicks at Bond's shins from under tables and bombards him with wine bottles, Bond traps him in a suitcase before locking him in a wicker cage and fixing him to the ship's mast. (TMWTGG)

Tiger Tanaka's training compound for his top men, located in a Japanese castle. Bond underwent a crash course of ninja training here, accelerated when it is discovered that SPECTRE agents have penetrated the supposedly secret base. (YOLT)

Nipples
The normal human complement is two - however, like Chandler Bing, Scaramanga had three, which is seen in some cultures as a sign of invulnverability and sexual prowess. For Bond to pose as Scaramanga, Q manufactures him a disposable stick-on one. (TMWTGG)

Nippon Relaxation Spa

Explosive stored in drums inside Amarez's secret storage area. (GF)

No, Dr
(Joseph Wiseman)
The unwanted child of a German missionary in China, No overcame his beginnings and ended up as the treasurer of the most powerful of the Chinese Tongs. Their trust in him was ill considered, as he stole $10 million in gold and fled to America. He joined SPECTRE, and used his stolen wealth to build his secret base at Crab Key, from where he plans to blackmail the American government by threatening to sabotage their space programme.
Dr No lost both hands in an accident while building his base's nuclear reactor, and had them replaced by partly-functional metal prosthetics. These ultimately proved his downfall when Bond throws him into the coolant chamber of his own reactor, and he is unable to grip firmly enough to climb out. (DN)

Nuclear Explosions
James Bond's actions have significantly increased the amount of radioactive contamination in the atmosphere. Dr No's reactor blew up, Blofeld's laser satellite detonated an American missile silo, a Soviet nuclear missile submarine and a Chinese missile complex, and both of Stromberg's submarines were destroyed by nuclear missiles in the Atlantic. (DN, DAF, TSWLM)

Nuclear Fuses
Triggering devices for the MOS bombs aboard Angelo's Vulcan bomber, kept in a white case in the cockpit for security reasons. They are only fitted to the warheads shortly before they are dropped. Unless a criminal organisation hijacks the plane and its armaments... (TB)

Nuclear Reactor
Dr No's rocket-toppling system was powered by this. It violates most, if not all, health and safety regulations regarding the contruction and operation of reactors. Dr No eventually pays the price for this when Bond sets it to go critical with the turn of a single control wheel before dropping its creator into its core. (DN)

The man in charge of SPECTRE's Far Eastern operations, specialising in blackmail. (TB)

Number 10
1: SPECTRE's French chief of operations, who masterminds the assassination of a French anti-matter specialist. (TB)
2: Verbal shorthand for 10 Downing Street, the official residence of the British Prime Minister. (OHMSS, FYEO)
