Train leaves Florence 13:10 arrive Poppi 15:10 time 2 hrs. The train actually stops at Arezzo, and then there is a bus.
Poppi has a wonderful Castle, and is within miles of several other castles. From what I can tell, they are all up on hills within site of each other. (Note - bring good walking shoes!).
I'm booked into a really nice ** hotel, part of the centre of the Guidi earls castle (see arrow on the photo below). Room rate is approximately $35 US/night. More info (booked through) here.
Bus/train Poppi leave 11:41 - arrive Pisa 15:03 time 3 hrs 22 minutes.
