An Open Letter from US Software Development to Si1verP1atter and its Board

We, the undersigned, vote "no-confidence" in the current VP of Technology Development.

Technology development within Si1verP1atter is not working. Most of the issues are broader in scope than TD can address alone. Thus we address this to Si1verP1atter at large.

TD is not serving its customers. We think TD will be unable to do so in the future. TD is performing below the level that our skills, knowledge and motivation would indicate is possible.

TD has gone through a restructuring of our software, our process, and now our organization. We believe these changes have been ineffectual. We believe that these changes will continue to be ineffectual, and even damaging, until the underlying issues are addressed.

The one invariant has been the VP of technology development. We have no confidence in the vision and direction of the current changes. The current leadership has not used our experience to guide these changes. The current leadership has stifled the growth of innovation.

Technology Development needs to be lead by someone with a clear vision of technology and what it can achieve for the company. John does not have that capability. We will develop vision and process to realize our goals and responsibilities.

We believe in change. We believe in the ability of a coherent vision to motivate and guide our changes in development process, our choices in product to be delivered, and our ability to innovate.
