To ensure
that we can provide support to our philanthropic projects as well as
our local collegiate chapter, we will hold different fund raising
events throughout the year. Funds will be allocated as voted upon by
our active alumnae members.
At the
initial start-up of our chapter, we held a free car wash in South
Charleston. Many alumnae pitched in on this beautiful Saturday
in September to wash a few cars and have some pizza. The funds
went to help to offset the costs of our Centennial celebration in
November 1999.
A
second fund raiser was held recently. Tammy St.Clair organized
a yard sale after discovering that Putnam County was holding a
community yard sale at the Hurricane Wave Pool Park. They
asked for $5 donations to set up a table. These donations
would then be used to buy recreational equipment for the local parks
and schools. All proceeds made in our sale would then go to
the chapter. The chapter voted at the March meeting to put
this money into the general account and determine its use later.
Hope Adkins Fout, Heather Morris, Kristi Legg, Amy Hendershot and
Tammy St.Clair donated items for a yard sale, while Amy and Tammy
spent the morning of April 15th selling the items. To see a
