All
nights are this night as I’ m driving on the world’s darkest roads without
a purpose, my mind empty, Weather storm by Massive Attack coming
through the car’s hi-fi, like that night, on Christmas Eve, after we’d
been to the police station to see Sorin who was being help in custody.
It’s raining, and I’m driving on and on. For a moment I feel that I’m lost,
but then I’m not. Just now Angelos will be leaving me yet another message
on my answering machine, yet another e-mail that I shan’t bother to read.
The road is slippery. First autumnal rains. I used to like autumn, now
I can’t stand any season. I’m lost again, but again I find my way. I see
some motorbikes parked ahead. I, too, find a place to park. The rain is
letting up, falling in drops, like tears that I wipe away with my sleeve.
