Worth The Price

I see on the news all of the bad things happening.
It makes me wonder how people can be so greedy and cruel.
It's sad to think of where the world will be when my children are my age.
If something doesn't change, what will they do?
Will they have to stay inside everyday?
Never know what it's like to play with their own children in their own yards?
Progress is nice, but what will the price be?
Will we have trees, forests, farms, and country roads?
Or will it all be one never-ending neighborhood?
Will all the things we need to survive be made by some factory?
I enjoy some of the luxuries we have in our lives,
But what is the price?
Will our children know how to appreciate the wild?
Or will all the creatures in the world be seen only in zoos?
People say they live by The Bible, but they think they're above everyone else.
Why can't they just accept people for who and what they decide to be?
What is the price if all religions persecute one another?
Will we live in a world constantly in religious wars?
What is the price for being intolerant of others & the choices they've made?
Look at all you hold dear.
Is it worth the price, or are you willing to change?
Are you willing to try to make this world a place where your children never have to ask:
Was it worth the price?
