The Bass String Removal

During the piano inspection it was determined that the bass bridge was cracked badly and would have to be replaced. Here you can see that the bass strings have been loosened facilitating their removal from the hitch pins and the bridge. Also while the piano was in this position the key bed was removed in order make it easier to attend to the bridge.

Notice that a 2x4 was used for three reasons. First it keep the piano from marking the floor. Second, it saved our fingers by giving us a gap when the piano was at rest. Finally it allowed us to get a good hold when it came time to right the piano.
