He was the son of Benjamin S. Goff and Elyaria Davidson. He married Martha E. Bollinger on 1 January 1888 at Gilmer County, West Virginia.

Melvina Pool was born on 13 June 1835 at Harrison County, Virginia. Melvina Pool was also known as Malvina Poole. Melvina Pool also went by the name of Mallie. She married Hiram S. Dotson, son of Emmanuel Dotson and Hannah Sears, in 1864. She married Hiram S. Dotson, son of Emmanuel Dotson and Hannah Sears, on 23 August 1864. As of after 23 August 1864,her married name was Dotson. She died on 12 March 1913 at age 77.

Hannah Sears was also known as Hannah Sayre. She was born on 23 August 1803 at Monongalia County, Virginia. She married Emmanuel Dotson, son of William Dotson and Mary Franks, in 1820 at Tyler County, Virginia. She died on 20 October 1862 at age 59 of spinal affliction. She was buried at Toll Gate Baptist Cemetery, Ritchie County, Virginia, with the gravestone showing a death date of December 2, 1862.

John Wesley Dotson was born on 24 May 1829. He was the son of Emmanuel Dotson and Hannah Sears. He married Amy Bull Poole before 1850; Their marriage is assumed to be before 1850 when their first known son, Enos G. Dotson, was born. He was mustered into military service on 31 August 1861 at Harrisville, Ritchie County, Virginia, and served in Company E of the 6th Regiment of Infantry. He ended military service on 10 September 1864 at Wheeling, West Virginia. He moved to Minnesota and then on to California. He died on 25 May 1923 at California, at age 94 per death certificate #24675.

Granville Dotson was born in 1827 at Middle Island, Tyler County, Virginia. Granville Dotson may have been named Grandville. He was the son of Emmanuel Dotson and Hannah Sears.

Lovisa Dotson was born on 15 June 1825 at Middle Island, Tyler County, Virginia. Lovisa Dotson may have been known as Louisa. She was the daughter of Emmanuel Dotson and Hannah Sears. She died on 25 February 1875 at age 49. She was buried at Taylor Cemetery, near Lynn Camp, Ritchie County, West Virginia.

Mansfield H. Dotson was born on 14 August 1844 at Ritchie County, Virginia. He was the son of Hiram S. Dotson and Susan Markwell. He was described by the military as having blue eyes, dark hair, a fair complexion and standing 6 feet even in height. He began military service on 20 August 1861 at Cairo, Virginia, Company D, 6th Regiment of Virginia Infantry of the Union Army. He reenlisted on 26 February 1864 at Clarksburg, West Virginia. He ended military service on 10 June 1865 at Wheeling, West Virginia, after receiving a $400 payment. He died after 1900 at Maryland.

Spencer B. Dotson was born on 7 December 1845 at Cabin Run, Ritchie County, Virginia. Spencer B. Dotson also went by the name of Buke. Spencer B. Dotson was also known as John Spencer B. Dotson. He was the son of Hiram S. Dotson and Susan Markwell. He served in Company B of the 4th West Virginia Volunteer Cavalry and in Company D of the 6th West Virginia Cavalry in the battles of Gettysburg, Droop Mountain and many other. He died on 7 April 1941 at Greenwood, Doddridge County, West Virginia, at age 95.

Perry E. Dotson was born on 15 June 1847 at Ritchie County, Virginia. He was the son of Hiram S. Dotson and Susan Markwell. He served in the Union Army with his father, Hiram S. Dotson, and his brothers, Spencer and Mansfield. He "was imprisoned for months, and was not recognized by his family when he finally returned." He married Helen S. (?) in 1877. He died on 27 May 1925 at Cairo, Ritchie County, West Virginia, at age 77. He was buried at I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Ritchie County, West Virginia.

Amos Asbury Dotson was born in 1849. He was born on 19 November 1849 at Ritchie County, West Virginia. He was the son of Hiram S. Dotson and Susan Markwell. He married Evallina Peck on 16 November 1876 at Ritchie County, West Virginia. He had 5 children. He lived at West Virginia, farm on the Wirt and Roane county line. He died in 1929. He died on 12 January 1929 at Wirt County, West Virginia, at age 79.

William Flavius Dotson was born on 7 May 1852 at Ritchie County, Virginia. He was the son of Hiram S. Dotson and Susan Markwell. He married Jennie (?) in 1887. He and Jennie (?) had 8 children. Seven of the children were living in. He died on 26 April 1936 at Pennsboro, Ritchie County, West Virginia, at age 83.

Alpheus R. Dotson was born on 27 May 1853 at North Fork of the Hughes River, Ritchie County, West Virginia. He was the son of Hiram S. Dotson and Susan Markwell. He died on 17 April 1917 at (Grafton) Bluemont, Taylor County, West Virginia, at age 63.

Jacob S. Hall was born on 10 February 1839 at Lewis County, Virginia. He was the son of John Hall and Rebecca Springston. He served in the "Stonewall Brigade" of the Confederate Army. In 1862. He was captured in 1864. He was held in Washington, DC then Elmira, New York. He was released on July 4, 1865. He served "the Confederacy in the Civil War in Company E, 19th Virginia Cavalry. He was captured in Loudon County, VIrginia on July 15, 1864 and was imprisoned at Elmira, New York." He married Mary Ann Jones in 1867. He died on 27 December 1877 at Wayside, Monroe County, West Virginia, at age 38.

William Farley Hall was born on 25 October 1840 in what is now Gilmer County at Lewis County, Virginia. He was the son of John Hall and Rebecca Springston. He married Maria Goff, daughter of Hiram Goff and Julia Haverty, in 1865 at Gilmer County, West Virginia. He married Maria Goff, daughter of Hiram Goff and Julia Haverty, on 20 July 1865 at Gilmer County, West Virginia. He and his wife were cousins. He and Maria Goff had 2 children. He died in 1922 at Gilmer County, West Virginia. He died on 15 December 1922 at Gilmer County, West Virginia, at age 82. He was buried at Hall Family Cemetery on the Gilmer-Ritchie County line, West Virginia.
