Carl Delford Law Jr. was born on 22 March 1918 at Harrison County, West Virginia. Carl Delford Law Jr. also went by the name of Junior. He was the son of Carl Delford Law and Bonnie Nell Bush. He was enumerated with Carl Delford Law on the census of 4 February 1920 at Harrison County, West Virginia, as Carl Law Jr.. He was listed as a single, white male of age 1 and 11/12. He was not attending school and could not read or write. Both he and his parents were born in West Virginia. He was wounded by a Japanese sniper and lost the use of his lower limbs at World War II. He died on 24 December 1959 at age 41. He was buried at IOOF Cemetery, Harrisville, Ritchie County, West Virginia.

Hiram S. Dotson was born circa 1822 at Doddridge County, Virginia. He was born on 21 September 1823 at Middle Island, Wood County, Virginia. Hiram S. Dotson was also known as Hiram Sayre Dotson. He was the son of Emmanuel Dotson and Hannah Sears. He married Susan Markwell on 2 November 1843 at Ritchie County, Virginia. He served in the Union Army between 1861 and 1863. "He was honorably discharged from the Union Army to care for his family" upon the death of his wife, Susan Markwell. He began military service on 13 September 1862 at Ellenboro, Virginia, as a private in Company G of the 14th Regiment of Virginia Infantry to serve for three years. He ended military service on 26 October 1863 at Petersburg, Virginia, by special order #479 for hardship. He married Melvina Pool in 1864. He married an unknown person on 23 August 1864. He married Melvina Pool on 23 August 1864. He died circa 1882. He died on 25 September 1899 at Toll Gate, Ritchie County, West Virginia, at age 76. He was buried at Tollgate Cemetery.

She died on 3 July 1863 at age 35; her death date is the same as her daughter, Susan Jane's, birthdate in this citation. Perhaps Susan Markwell died from complications of child birth. She died on 12 July 1863 at Toll Gate, Ritchie County, Virginia, at age 35. She died in October 1863.

Hiram Porter Smith was born on 10 March 1889. He was the son of William Franklin Smith and Susan Jane Dotson. Hiram Porter Smith also went by the name of Port. Hiram Porter Smith was also known as Hirem. He married Ima Collins, daughter of Elliott Collins, before 1913; The marriage date is assumed to be before the birth of the oldest child listed in the 1920 census. He and Ima Collins lived on 4 February 1920 at Ritchie County, West Virginia. He died in 1974.

Homer Smith age 3y 6m 22 days per grave stone gives calculated birth of 1895. He was born in 1895. He was the son of William Franklin Smith and Susan Jane Dotson. He died on 25 January 1899 at South Fork Cemetery, Summers, Doddridge County, West Virginia.

Della Smith was born on 10 January 1907 at West Virginia. She was the daughter of William Franklin Smith and Susan Jane Dotson. She married Harvey Sheplar, son of Wade H. Sheplar and Lisa (?); Harvey Sheplar and Della Smith were not yet married at the time of the 1920 census. She died on 26 April 1998 at age 91. She was buried on 29 April 1998 at South Fork Baptist Church Cemetery, Summers, Doddridge County, West Virginia. The Rev. Arthur Cox conducted the burial service.

Mary Bush was born on 28 November 1846 probably in Lewis County, Virginia. She was the daughter of George Farley Bush and Joanna Goff Springston. She married Rev. Lemuel Stump Vannoy, son of Benjamin Gainer Vannoy and Isabel Stump, on 29 November 1866. She and Rev. Lemuel Stump Vannoy had 10 children. She married Rev. Lemuel Stump Vannoy, son of Benjamin Gainer Vannoy and Isabel Stump, on 28 September 1870 at Gilmer County, West Virginia; I believe this date for the marriage to be in error. According to the same source as this date, Lemuel Vannoy and Mary Bush had 2 children born before this date. I deem it unlikely that a preacher would have multiple children before wedding the mother. She died on 23 October 1905 at age 58. She was buried at Union Church Cemetery on Sinking Creek, Gilmer County, West Virginia.

He married Virginia Woodford on 29 September 1870 at Gilmer County, West Virginia. He and Virginia Woodford had 9 children. He died on 19 August 1934 at age 85. He was buried at Horn Creek Baptist Cemetery, Gilmer County, West Virginia.

Rebecca Bush was born on 8 July 1862 at Gilmer County, Virginia. She was the daughter of George Farley Bush and Joanna Goff Springston. She married Homer Paca Woofter, son of Rev. John Woofter, on 15 July 1883 at Gilmer County, West Virginia. She and her sister, Hortense, married brothers. Hortense married Dr. A.J. Woofter. She and Homer Paca Woofter had no children. She and Homer Paca Woofter lived after 15 July 1883 at Sinking Creek, Gilmer County, West Virginia. She died on 18 August 1945 at age 83.

Abraham Springston was born circa 1775 at Augusta County, Virginia. Abraham Springston was also known as Abraham Springstone. Abraham Springston was also known as Abraham Springstun. He was the son of Jacob Springston. He married Mary Innis on 14 March 1797 at Randolph County, Virginia. He and Mary Innis lived at Ohio County, Kentucky, where he was on the tax list on 10 September 1800. He began military service on 27 August 1812 as a private in Captain Samuel Connor's Company, 1st Regiment of Jordan's Indiana Militia. He ended military service on 20 September 1812. He married Elizabeth Shrode on 31 August 1818 at Spencer County, Indiana. He and Elizabeth Shrode had 6 children. He died on 4 June 1845 at Spencer County, Indiana. He was buried at Whitehouse Cemetery, near Chesney, Spencer County, Indiana.

Abraham Springston was born on 7 February 1810 at Randolph County, Virginia. He was the son of Jacob Springston Jr. and Luda Goff. He was a road builder. He helped cut the first road through the Murphy District of Ritchie County, Virginia. He and his crew camped out because the area had few residents. His 12 year old sister, Joanna Goff Springston, cooked for the crew. In 1832. He married Eva Goff, daughter of Hiram Goff and Margaret Rush, in January 1836 at Lewis County, Virginia; Abraham and Eva were cousins. He and Eva Goff began married life on old Springston homestead, Lewis County, Virginia, between 1836 and 1843. He and Eva Goff had 10 children. He and Eva Goff lived between 1843 and 1852 at Jackson County, Virginia. He married Jane Ann Wilson on 24 October 1852 at Lewis County, Virginia. He and Jane Ann Wilson had 2 children. He and Jane Ann Wilson lived after 1859 at Richardsonville, Calhoun County, Virginia. He lived after 1885 with his sister, Joanna (Springston) Bush on Sinking Creek, Gilmer County, West Virginia. He died on 10 June 1893 at Gilmer County, West Virginia, at age 83. He was buried at the Union Church Cemetery on Sinking Creek, beside his sister Joanna (Springston) Bush, Gilmer County, West Virginia.

John Gideon Springston was born on 10 October 1811 at Randolph County, Virginia. He was the son of Jacob Springston Jr. and Luda Goff. He married Margaret Bush, daughter of Henry Bush and Ailsey Simpson, on 3 January 1835 at Lewis County, West Virginia. He and Margaret Bush had 5 children. He received a land grant on Elias Run and Leading Creek for over 500 acres. In 1844. He married Susan Heckert on 8 February 1849 at Gilmer County, Virginia. He married Isabel Stump on 5 February 1861 at Gilmer County, Virginia. He died on 14 March 1895 at Leading Creek, Gilmer County, West Virginia, at age 83.

Rebecca Springston was born on 6 March 1814 at Randolph County, Virginia. She was the daughter of Jacob Springston Jr. and Luda Goff. She married John Hall, son of John Hall and Margaret Snider, on 4 February 1838 at Lewis County, Virginia. She and John Hall had 9 children. She and John Hall built a homestead in 1868 on Horn Creek which burned in 1971. It was occupied at the time by a great-granddaughter, Julia Hall Gordon and and her husband,Bertie Gordon. She died in 1897 at Gilmer County, West Virginia. She died on 26 June 1897 at Gilmer County, West Virginia, at age 83. She was buried at Hall Family Cemetery, on Ritchie County line, Gilmer County, West Virginia.

James Carrico Springston was born on 13 March 1816 at Randolph County, Virginia. He was the son of Jacob Springston Jr. and Luda Goff. He was the first school teacher in the Center District of Calhoun County in 1835 at Virginia. He was also a farmer, served four years as school commisioner, four years as trustee, and was a road surveyor for six years. He setttled in 1843 at Jackson County, Virginia. He lived in 1860 at with his brother William, Roane County, Virginia. He married Mary Jane Hanger, daughter of George Hanger and Ruth Duncan, on 1 April 1868 at Calhoun County, West Virginia, when he was 52 years old. He and Mary Jane Hanger had no children. He helped raise his wife's children by a prior marriage. He died on 16 March 1887 at Roane County, West Virginia, at age 71.

Joseph Yeager Springston was born on 26 November 1817 at Randolph County, Virginia. He was the son of Jacob Springston Jr. and Luda Goff. He helped construct a 6 mile stretch of road which is now Route 47 from Horn Creek to Tanner Creek. He died on 5 October 1853 at Jackson County, Virginia, at age 35.

William Springston was born on 20 March 1822 at Randolph County, Virginia. He was the son of Jacob Springston Jr. and Luda Goff. He was a farmer, was a member of the Roane County Board of Education for two years and spent 10 years as a school trustee. He married Susan Bush, daughter of Henry Bush and Margaret Snider, on 3 June 1847 at Leading Creek, Gilmer County, Virginia. He and Susan Bush had 10 children. He died on 8 April 1889 at Spencer, Roane County, West Virginia, at age 67. He was buried at the Springston Cemetery, Triplett Road, Spencer, Roane County, West Virginia.

George Gray Springston was born on 16 April 1825 at Lewis County, Virginia. He was the son of Jacob Springston Jr. and Luda Goff. He was a farmer. He married Mary Elizabeth Daniels on 1 April 1855 at Jackson County, Virginia. He and Mary Elizabeth Daniels had 5 children. He died on 29 June 1887 at Roane County, West Virginia, at age 62. He was buried at the Springston Cemetery on Triplett Road, Spencer, Roane County, West Virginia.

She was buried at Horn Creek Baptist Cemetery, Gilmer County, West Virginia.

Emery Judson Woofter was born on 25 April 1867. He married Alice Gay Bush, daughter of James Carrico Bush and Mary Elizabeth Riddle, on 18 July 1895 at Gilmer County, West Virginia. He was a Baptist minister. He died in 1949 at Parkersburg, Wood County, West Virginia.
