The Greatest Need
~ Anastasia Joseph
Have you ever been in love? Isn't it the happiest, most thrilling feeling that
you've ever had? Connected, bonded, joined by some unexplained force. The
inexplicable swell of your heart when they utter the words "I love you" and
the sweet comfort knowing that you are truly loved for who you are and not what
you can give or for what you have. ("Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting
love." Jeremiah 31:3)
The greatest human need is to be loved. To know that you have found another person
who accepts you without limits... unconditional love! No one can forget their first
love, nor their first kiss; neither the first love letter and how they studied it
making sure that it was real, that those words were actually written to you and only
you. You ask, "Does (s)he really love ME? Why?" ("Seek ye out of the book of the
Lord and read: no one of these shall fail..." Isaiah 34:16)
Being with your lover is happiness, but separation is sadness. How can you survive
without him/her? Why, why, why? When will you be together again, in each others arms,
sharing your mutual love? Oh, when will (s)he return? ("As the heart panteth after
the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God. My soul thirsteth for God for
the living God. O when shall I come and appear before him?" Psalms 42:1,2)
Love is what we all crave... the need for acceptance for just who we are, the type of
love that will never leave us, protecting us from all harm and reassuring us that they
will forever be there. ("Oh taste and see that the Lord is good, blessed is the man
that trusteth in him." Psalms 34:8 "The Lord is with you, while ye be with him: and if
ye seek him, he will be found if you; but if ye forsake him, he will forsake you." - 2
Chronicles 15:2)
Love is standing right there with arms open wide. All you have to do is just run into
them. So, run, before it's too late.
