.... The continuing saga that has become known as Family News is here again. This is somewhat of a mini-series covering past/present/recent events in and around the house. This is one page of several others that "getting better as we go" keeps you up to speed of events around here. The idea that this may appear as a monthly thing is false. It is written when the weather keeps me indoors or when the notion strikes me. Remember this is not only for those far away but for those of us who have a moments to spend during the day when reading is much better. Take a moment to write and let us know events unfolding at your end.

For all you folks at home, want to know when a new page to the saga is added? Goto the feedback page and let the machine know by clicking on the little box/button and push submit. Don't think for a minute you will get an immediate reply, I write this as the notion peaks and it's by no means monthly. Make your mark here.

Karin's world
20030410 - Many things have occurred since last time!

The student has completed another year of college, be prepared to be managed one day very soon. After a practicum with our mighty Calgary Stampeders football club, she seeks interim employment to supplement/replace her current employment.

Sherri's world
20030410 - Many things have occurred since last time!

Car stories are plentiful time after time. We have a multi-level relationship with our automotive friends. We are still in-the-loop at the Bay some evenings and weekends.

Carolyn's world
20030410 - Many things have occurred since last time!

Seasonal visits to the cardiologist / electrophysiologist / professor of medicine / head of his dept [what ever else he does] has prompted a "heart scan." Many stories lately involve the tales of angiogram & heart scan to determine the cause of what some may call pace-maker syndrome. Bone scan & extensive x-rays to discover the source of phantom tooth pain were also permitting us to single-handedly finance the renovations to the local hospitals.

Kitchen reno is still a novelty and she is enjoying it to the limit.

There are fewer priorities than fine health.

Don's world
The brain storming continues...

20030410 - Was that a mild winter or what? What has happened over the last few months to keep me away from this? I am having trouble locating a starting point, suffice to say that I have been busy with work. The politics around the office have recently been requiring my attention & I have begun a campaign to "stir things up" with a few long overlooked problems resolved. One hurdle is the altering of my job location for a few more months until I can get enough changes completed to become permanent. Another goal is to be taken seriously, rather than having to point out the obvious over and over again. This my friends marks the beginning of an era, I have a feeling history will repeat itself. The office will never be the same again.

I'm still zen with sudo this and ls that with a fsck thrown in.

20030412 - This year might include reno's to the garage, laundry room &/or bathrooms. So much to do and where to begin?

For future reference at the end of September 2002 the mac.com reference to anything here on the site will be useless. I refuse to become a victim. I have a light bill, a gas bill, a phone bill, a tax bill, a food bill, a visa bill, a water bill, a sewer bill, a garbage bill, and I do not want a Mac bill.

20030401 - Technology Gloat of the Month: Stinger. Perhaps you've seen one of these in the tool ads. It's a pressure washer that really pumps out the water! I got mine as an atta boy from the office.

(Telus)
Nope, I'm not going to talk about the TELUS stock circling the drain lately.

The House
The fan keeps us cool...
20030419 - The 7RP (70's Renovation Project) is complete in the kitchen!

Excuse me while I retch, as I write this on SNL the Dixie chicks are playing and I must go and puke. My gawd what a waste of air time! Funny to watch, almost no applause and quickly go to a station break, they too realize their error. Maybe it's me but I just don't understand the attraction to this style of music, everything is based on disaster and whiny melodies.

This spring an attempt will be made to solve our back yard side-walk issue with a heaping helping of labour and innovation. The idea is to tame the bricks into being on the straight & level, something that has not been for a few years. Over the years they have been dug up several times, once by the fools at Cable TV, twice by me repairing the damage from the fools of Cable TV and once again to bury a pipe for the phone drop. This in it's self has been the majority of the problems and also partly caused by the roots of the large poplar tree and it is far simpler to fix the sidewalk than fix the tree. Not only will I have an opportunity to level the sidewalk but to expose the sprinkler pipe traveling under part of it to install another pressure relief valve to automatically drain the pipe when the pressure is dropped. Pretty slick, eh? No draining the sprinkler system in the fall, it does it by itself.

We are waiting and standing by to solve another house (reno) emergency.

The above URL points to the old AGT server which I am going to try & squeeze some space into it.
