.... The continuing saga that has become known as Family News is here again. This is somewhat of a mini-series covering past/present/recent events in and around the house. This is Volume 2 Issue 9.
This is one page of several others that "getting better as we go" keeps you up to speed of events around here. The idea that this may appear as a monthly thing is false. It is written when the weather keeps me indoors or when the notion strikes me. Remember this is not only for those far away but for those of us who have a moments to spend during the day when reading is much better. Take a moment to write and let us know events unfolding at your end.
Something Different: Take a step back to 1969 and see a photo of the Glamorgan Grad's Details are there.
I'm sure images and certain proprietary items are here somewhere, they at all times belong to/ registered to the respective owners, you know who you are.

20001225 - Merry Christmas to one and all. You will notice we did not send paper cards this year and due mostly in part to a complete lack of time we have noticed a general absence of these even in the stores. If you did not receive our virtual card, please do not feel ignored, we did not send a great quantity of these.

Karin's world
20001220 - Exams nearly complete and school done for yet another season. Strong results from the past semester and nothing holding her back now.

20001222 - Oh my, it's almost time to pay for next semester. Just a minute now, didn't we just pay for that?

20001206 - What's up with cars? It must be time for the ol'Blue to get some attention! May I recommend a glass shop here in town if you ever need to be treated as a real honest-to-goodness customer that deserves a break. Your time and money are well spent and the service is unmatched by anyone. Greg's Import Auto glass, two thumbs Very Enthusiastically Up for these guys.

20001219 - Looking forward it can only get better. This is a step that can only be taken (with today's medicine in mind) very slowly and with great care. This care is being shifted toward to the patient. The old adage, "take care" are very profound words indeed. These two words have several meanings that apply to each day without notice.
We have learned that drug therapy must be adjusted for the current situation and with close attention to detail it works quite well. We have yet to see documented evidence of some of the current side effects, but with experimentation some have been reduced to an predictable pattern. This pattern is not welcome but at the same time familiar and easier to handle.

Only time and trial will current therapy really pay off. The surgical alternatives are not an option and this must be faced. Perhaps 30 years from now, but not now.

20001220 - Let's retire the gas price rant for a while, eh? May I rant about the price of home improvement product? This is a huge market that is about to take off in huge proportions. The trend that I have noticed is the "empty nester's" have large sums of time and a little money to use at the "Home Depot's" of late. We come into this category, sad it is to say.

Take this idle time and some money and we have a dangerous situation. Home Depot gets richer and with luck we get something to pat ourselves on the back. The hard work involved is trying to decide what to do and where. We have knowledge that something must be done and where to start but the problem always lies on what to start on first. Once this decision has taken place the wise spending of time and money to best reach the plateau of satisfaction. Sometimes this plateau has a steeper slope to ascend and this will get only worse as it reaches fruition.

For those at the phone company, check out our new webspace for the Transmission department: "//network.tsl.telus.com/transmission"
I'm the webbist and need input. I've been advised to keep it clean (what ever this means), this is of course doesn't indicate we can't have a bit of fun with it.

20001223 - The 7RP (70's Renovation Project) is alive once again. You will have noticed the regular edition of Fam News is late and for good reason. We are going head strong at the 7RP starting at the bottom and going up from here. This means we have started in the basement and continuing upwards from there.
The dilemma of what to do in the kitchen is stalled for lack of suitable product and ideas from current suppliers. There is very little imagination out there! If your thoughts are not in 24 or 32 inch increments, then go away. We have a society that are taught or forced to live in 2 foot spaces of thought without any possible room for invention. We are going to make an attempt to get over this hurdle, however sucessful.
This has left us with the reno of the basement with abandon. Nothing has been untouched other than the location of the walls. New carpet, with level floor under, new paint, new washer, new dryer, new light, new ceiling, new bathroom floor, new electrical, new window coverings, new furniture, new shelves, new smells, new sights, new this and that.
Mind you, a few details are being looked into over the next few weeks it has been a very busy past month. The job for the most part is complete in record time. It has been a learning experience and can be applied to the rest of the 7RP.

Look out Kitchen, you're next.

We are waiting and standing by to solve another house (reno) emergency.

(D2M)

To be continued...

As always... Stay tuned, the next edition will be next year, the actual beginning of the next millennium. Thoughts bouncing around might include a new look for the site, perhaps a slow integration into something different?? I would like to write myself into something different but this is hardly stimulating, visual is the buzz word of the moment.
