Stages of life--Several statues and the centerpiece monument in the large Frognerparken, depicting all the stages of life and a large monolith in the center. (Paging Dr. Freud.) |
Oslo, Norway-- After a short time in Sweden, I finally made it to my cousins Pat and Susan's apartment in Norway. After taking in the Munch Museum and seeing his famous Scream, Susan gave me a walking tour of the city that had slowly become home for them after being transfered several months beforehand. Visit my cousins' own website here. Besides seeing the beautiful downtown area, the royal palace, and Queen's garden we toured all of the free bathrooms in the town. :) As those who have gone to Europe know, public bathrooms throughout the continent are hard to find. One reason why McDonald's are so popular is because of the bathrooms. (Except in a Hamburg Burger King where I suspect there was a bathroom guy you pay afterwards. I justifiably did not enter.)
Rocommendations: Go to Frognerparken, a large park where an artist made statues depicting all the stages of life. It will remind you of your own life. Also, get ready for some outrageous prices ($40 for a haircut and $9 for a McDonald's meal, like at the Champs Elysees in Paris). Their free national medical benefits will get you each time.
