The Big Buddha Sasaguri Town is home to the largest bronze statue in the world: a reclining Buddha. The statue is fairly new, but the complex it is part of isn't. It is built on a slope around a mountain stream and is home to many moss covered statues, and small altars, one of which is hidden away in a cave. The site is the first stop on Sasaguri's 88 temple pilgrimage. One big hunk o' bronze
