Comprehensive General Sites aimed at Wine Consumers
A few representatives of the huge number of sites dedicated to the wine consumer. Very eclectic sites with a mixture of information, reviews, tours, buying deals and chances to chat about wine. These particular sites are the biggest and the best reviewed.
- Robin Garr's Wine Lovers Page
- A less appealing opening page but a place to get lost in once you begin. It is full of wine links, beautiful images and more wine material but much of it is similar to this site. Explore when you have time or if the other sites do not uncover what you want. This is likely to entertain you more than inform.
- Smartwine.com
- The most comprehensive site on the Net and the most commercial. It promises a lot but often the information is only to tempt you to spend on their many products. The Business section is the most promising for professionals in this field. They have a link to US STATS which if it is kept up could be a good source of wine statistics. At the moment the library would have better information than is online here.
- UC Davis Wine Links
- The wineserver at UC-Davis has along list of wine links which are not annotated and will take a long time to load. However please check here if you are looking for worldwide information that is likely to be on the Internet and is not covered in the other links.
