This page is dedicated to my cyber-friend, Steve,who gave me the idea.
This page idea was born 4-27-98 on the CatChat Live Chatline,
which is now Catmania Discussion Forum,
while Steve and I were discussing chocolate.

Also, I dedicate it to my dear friend, Loretta,
who is in the Chocoholics Hall of Fame top 10 list.
Loretta and I try to outdo each other with chocolate desserts
when we are together. I am certain that at least one of her
recipes will appear here.

LET THE ECSTASY BEGIN!

ARE YOU READY FOR THIS?!

Studies show that chocolate is a powerful protecter against
heart disease because it contains phenolic acids. These are
chemicals that prevent oxidation of good blood fats into the
form of fat that clogs arteries. Also, if you love dark chocolate,
it contains more of the phenolic acids, so you are even less at risk.

Chocolate also contains stearic acid, which boosts good cholesterol
without upping the bad cholesterol.

Chocolate does not trigger migraines.
(If it did, I would stay sick with them)

Chocolate does not cause acne.

Chocolate does not cause tooth decay, even though it contains
sugar. This is probably because its protein and minerals help
protect tooth enamel and its fat content prevents it from sticking
to the teeth.

Chocolate makes us feel good! (We all know that or we wouldn't be
reading this page, now would we?). The reason for that is that
chocolate contains three brain chemicals that stimulate feelings
of pleasure.

OK, now that we've heard all the good stuff, let's all
remember that too much chocolate IS fattening. Therefore,
we can't just run out and try to stay healthy by overindulging
in chocolate. After all, obesity is bad for the heart!

HELPFUL CHOCOLATE HINTS

*3 tbsp. cocoa + 1 tbsp. oil= 1 square baking chocolate.
*Use regular butter or margarine in sticks for best results.
*Store cocoa tightly sealed in a cool dry place.
