Reba is my oldest sister.
I was only two years old when she
was married. I grew up with her children. I wrote
this poem for her on Mothers Day a few years ago.
REBA
Happy Mothers Day, Sis
I love you like a Mother; this I don't need to say,
But I want to tell you today, because its Mothers Day.
You're always there for me,when I need to talk to you,
I hope you also know, I'm here for you too.
There's a time in my life, when I was very small,
My memory of you is very faint, some I can't recall at all.
Seems you've always been a Mother, with a little one at your knee,
But you always found the time, for a hug and kiss for me.
I grew up with your children, and I loved them all so much.
Its a shame I don't see them now, or even keep in touch.
Your life was never easy and you could have used a helping hand,
But I was young back then and didn't understand.
When I grew older and was married and had a family too,
I understood, a little bit, of what you'd been through.
Thank God, your life is better now,it was your lucky day
When you fell in love with and married that good guy we call, Ray.
Be happy today and always, Sis, please remember what I say
You are a Special Mother, now have a Happy Mothers Day!
