A Light From Our Household
A light from our household is gone,
A voice we loved is stilled
A place is vacant in our home,
Which never can be filled.
We have to mourn the loss of one
We did our best to save.
Beloved on earth, regretted still,
Remembered in the grave.
'Twas hard to part with one so dear,
We little thought the time was near
Farewell, dear one, your life is past,
Our love for you till the end will last.
I Am Not Dead
Do not stand at my grave and weep;
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow;
I am diamond glints of snow;
I am the sunlight on ripened grain;
I am the gentle autumn's rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush;
I am the swift uplifting rush
of quiet birds encircled flight
I am the soft star that shines at night
Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there, I did not die.
Goodbye My Beloved Son
Your gentle face and patient smile,
With sadness we recall,
You had a kindly word for each
And died beloved by all.
The voice is mute and stilled the heart
That loved us well and true,
Ah, bitter was the trial to part
From one so good as you.
You are not forgotten love one
Nor will you ever be
As long as life and memory last
We will remember thee.
We miss you now, our hearts are sore,
As time goes by, we miss you more,
Your loving smile, your gentle face,
No one can take your vacant place.
Beloved Son
Since the time we awaited your arrival you brought us much happiness. When you were born on that 31st of December in 1981, you filled our hearts with illusions and hopes. As time passed by the days, the months and the years, we watched as you grew and the beautiful things you did.
We remember with fondness the arrival of your first tooth, your first and unsure steps, the first spoken words, the happiness as you entered Kindergarten and later school.
We learned of your likes and activities and as times passed your growth both intellectual and human. With your ways you filled our home we watched you pass the evolutionary steps to your adolescence with hopes and methods forging your future.
You became the idol of your cousins, aunts and uncles, and grandparents. The loving and Faithful friend of your classmates the most noble, simple and warm brother, as well as a marvelous example of a son that God gifted us with. For these values and morals that God gave you, you were the pride of the family.
Today, that you have gone to the Heavenly sky, our souls are full of infinitive sadness upon losing one of our greatest treasures. Upon going you are taking part of us with you and the great role which you are leaving will only be filled when we find ourselves together again in the Glorious Life to hug and kiss you as we always had.
Thank you son from the bottom of our souls for sharing with us these unforgettable moments. We will love you forever, because love knows no time, no space and we will always remember you |
Note: This letter was read at the Church by his cousins Jennifer and Lorena on the day of the funeral.

Goodbye
By Carmen Rosa Rojas (Aunt)
During 16 years you made us happy because you were a boy who, through your marvelous qualities, taught us the greatness that exists in humans.
Your love propounded onto everyone else, you had an unconditional disposition to help at any given moment, your unequaled smile filled our souls with peace, and your silence told us many things.
Your prudence made others feel important, you had sentiments of nobility for those who crossed your path, your gentle manliness fascinated those who surrounded you and in general the charisma which you possessed made those who crossed your path love and remember you.
Your unforgettable angelic sweetness gave us hope and happiness. God chose YOU to be close to HIM because exceptional people like you are few.
God, You who are the giver of our lives, and You who brought us to know it through Mark, in the same way have asked us for his return and with profound pain and sadness we gave him back to you because you gave him to us voluntarily. You physically took him from us but we will keep him in our minds and our hearts, reliving the shared moments and the beautiful memories of his existence, that we will preserve until we are all reunited in a future no far in the glory of Eternal Life.
