Welcome to my Backyard Pond
Now let the tour continue as you meet my first pond guest and watch my
gardens grow. :o) Want a cup of coffee or perhaps a glass of iced tea?
I have my coffee here in the mornings, and John and I enjoy a nice glass of
wine in the evenings or another pot of coffee!
We've extended our gardens by about 20 feet or more in the back. Remember
my swing from my backyard photos? That swing now sits back by the
wishing well.
Here you can see the beginning of the fence John is making out of the boards
from the ole' barn that sits across the creek. He came up with the idea one
day...its become a big hit and his creative juices are flowing...its almost
scarey to see this solemn, serious, creative side of him. Its great!
This is me and Mother on Sunday afternoon June 14, 1998. Exactly one month
and two days after the pond construction began. The plants have grown so
nicely with their lush green foliage!
Haley is 2 1/2 now and loves to come over and feed the fish. She likes all
of them but her favorite is the Miss Molly and Bud! She is so adorable! :o)
See the rocks behind us? That is the remains of our fireplace from the farm
house! We left the rocks in place and now its our outside fireplace used for
roasting marshmallows for smores! Oh, you don't know what smores are? Well grab a pencil and paper..or copy and paste...
you roast the marshmallows until they're a golden brown. Put the roasted
sweet gooy on a graham cracker with a hershey bar and tada...you have "Smores"!
What a treat for kids of all ages! *S*
This is my Aunt Verna. She has given
me several perennials for my gardens and she was the presenter of my first
5 fish. The gal in the middle is my Mother. The handsome dude on the right
is not Santa...No No...that is my older brother, Russell. He came to see the
pond and to get some perennials for his yard. Like I said earlier...we share our garden knowledge and flowers
here in West Virginia! :o)
