I got back from my cousin chip's funeral in Myrtle Beach, SC Tuesday night. It was a hard trip, but a special time of being with family. I was especially blessed to be able to visit with my cousin Zan (Chip's sister). I met the Lord while staying with her back in '72 and since she lives in California, we do not get to see each other very often.
This morning (Thursday, 22nd) Belinda got a call from her mom concerning her sister Sandra. As you probably know, last week Sandra had 2 operations. One to get the blood flowing to one of her ankles and one to remove some cancer from her bladder. Since last week, she has not been able to eat or drink anything without getting sick and some other symptoms. The operated again this morning and found cancer in her colon, stomach and kidneys. They did not try to remove the cancer, since it is at such an advanced state, They did put in a colostomy. We are not sure how much time she has. Belinda is not supposed to travel, but is going to Atlanta this weekend. The girls and I have to go there also to move Belinda and Sandra's stuff out of their apartment.
Thanks so much for your cards, calls, e-mails, and prayers. Many have asked how Sandra is doing and how to pray for her. I hope this update answers those questions. Please also keep us in your prayers. It is a really hard time right now. You have all been such an encouragement to us - thanks.
